Belmont’s beautiful banners
ThePublicTransportAuthority(PTA)have
nowcompletedStage1and2ofthe
hardstandupgradeprogramwhichconsists
of220stops.Stage3willseethecompletion
oftheprojectlaterintheyearwiththe
upgradeoftheremaining51stopsincluding
modificationsofseveralexistingnon-
compliantbusembayments.Pleasenote
thatatsomelocations,newreplacement
sheltersareproposed.Thiswillbea50/50
fundingagreementwiththePTA.
Theremaybelocationswhereshelterswill
bemissingforsomeweeks.Weapologise
foranyinconveniencethismaycause.

Focus Group is seeking to increase its

backgrounds, in particular people with

PollutantTrapatIvyStreet,Ascot.The
EcosolRSF4450removesgrosspollutants,
hydrocarbons,sedimentsandnutrientsfrom
stormwaterpriortoitdischargingintothe
SwanRiver.
TheIvyStreetdrainagesystemwasselected
basedonitscatchmentareaandthehigh
levelsofhydrocarbonrun-offfromGreat
EasternHighway,aswellasthepossible
futureextensionofHayRoad.
ThecatchmentareafortheIvyStreet
drainagesystemisoversevenhectaresand
containsastretchofGreatEasternHighway,
localroadsandlightindustrialpremises.
Therearenow16PollutantTrapsinstalled
invariouslocationsaroundtheCitywiththe
objectiveofimprovingstormwaterquality,
thusprotectingandenhancingournatural
environment.
Resultsofstormwatermonitoringare
integralindirectingCouncil’sdecision
makingforfuturewaterqualityimprovement
works.Thisisparticularlyrelevantfor
drainsthatdischargedirectlyintothe
SwanRiver.Suchworksmayinvolve
drainretrofitting,revegetationfornutrient
stripping,compensatingbasinupgradesand
installationofpollutanttraps.

tolearnaboutmosaicsasanartmediumbycreatingadesignthatwassuitablefora
ceramicpotandthencutandgluedsmalltiledpiecestothepot,finishingitwithgroutand
