The PG&E Supplier Diversity team met Karen Garcia, president of RCS Corporation, at a conference in 2013 and invited her to a PG&E matchmaker in late 2013 and then 3 more matchmakers in 2014 and 2015. One of the goals of PG&E matchmakers is to connect our prime suppliers with diverse suppliers for potential contracting opportunities. At these meetings RCS, along with other diverse suppliers, was introduced to over 35 PG&E prime suppliers. In the months and years that followed, Karen was diligent about follow up and continued the conversation with the suppliers. Gradually, she made progress and signed contracts with PG&E primes. Eventually some of the contracts turned into revenue. As of January 2016, RCS has 13 signed contracts with PG&E prime suppliers and increased their company revenue through these new business relationships. This is a great example of how a strong and diligent supplier can leverage the matchmaking networking experience and turn it into dollars. RCS Corporation is a woman/Hispanic owned worldwide staffing solutions provider with an emphasis in the Energy Industry. Recruiting specialties consist of Engineering Disciplines, Project Management, Project Controls, Information Technology, Construction Management, Operations Management and Business Professionals.

DBE participants benefit from: executive mentorship, cross-functional supplier development team assistance, quality certification training, educational scholarships to management development programs, and customized business development plans. The following five DBEs will begin their journey through the Supplier Development Program this 2016.
