Since the first day of school staff and students have been diligently preparing for STAAR testing. Now everyone can take a deep breath and relax just a little! STAAR testing for the year is complete and everyone is looking forward to upcoming end of year activities. For a complete list of upcoming events, see the calendar on the last page of this edition of Wildcat Weekly. The Palestine Wildcat Baseball team earned their fourth playoff appearance in the past five years. Four of our students, their grandmother, and a former graduate of the school district who was the husband and brother of two PISD teachers all lost their lives. Palestine ISD participated in a communitywide memorial service this week where friends and families joined together to remember and honor those who were lost. During this emotionally challenging time, remember that Palestine ISD campus counselors are available to provide support to students, faculty, and staff. Thank you to PHS students, the PISD Maintenance Department, and many others who have been helping those who lost their homes and belongings due to the flooding. Please continue to remember those who lost loved ones, and those who are still struggling after losing their homes and belongings.

• We are so proud to announce that 42 PJH students were inducted into the National Junior Honor Society this past week. Congratulations to these students on all their hard work.
