Friends, It gives me immense pleasure to present the third edition of Daman Ganga Police Newsletter. It seems just yesterday that the inaugural copy was released by Jt. Secretary, MHA, Shri Gopal Reddy but time really flies. In the last quarter the Independence Day celebrations passed off peacefully as also the Liberation Day Parade of Dadra and Nagar Haveli. In this period a number of initiatives for the benefit of the citizens of these territories like Cyber Security Awareness Program, Seminar on Fire and Industrial Safety were undertaken. All ranks of Daman,Diu and Dadra Nagar Haveli Police ably assisted by India Reserve battalion and Home Guards have put in a sterling performance in maintaining law and order as also controlling crime in both the territories. I wish them all the best.

team. Nariyal Puja, heralds the onset of the fishing season when the boats are once again lowered onto the

waters and the fishermen of Daman and Diu venture into the high seas for fishing. Nariyal Puja is celebrated

by organizing boat races, swimming competition, tug of war and cultural programs in which entire population

of Daman and Diu participates amidst tight security by Daman Diu Police.

Since Portuguese times Nani Daman Police celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi as also the feast of St Francis Xavier

with active participation of all ranks. This year the fervor was no different as can be seen in the Ganesh
