He stud ied abroad at L inco ln Un ivers i ty (Pennsy lvan ia ) and the Graduate School of F ine Ar ts of the Un ivers i ty of Pennsy lvan ia where he obta ined two Masters Degrees in Arch i tecture , inc lud ing one f rom the Des ign Stud io of Lou is I . Kahn .

He was the owner of Jackson Burns ide L imi ted and served as a v is i t ing professor at the Un ivers i ty of Miami and The Car ibbean School of Arch i tecture , K ingston , Jamaica , among other inst i tu t ions .

A lover of a l l th ings Bahamian , he was a Junkanoo co- leader w i th the Saxons for many years before leav ing to form, a long wi th others , the One Fami ly Junkanoo and Communi ty Organ izat ion where he was Chai rman Emer i tus and des igner. He was the founder and host of the popu lar in teract ive rad io show “Junkanoo Talks” .

H is devot ion to create an awareness of cu l tu re went beyond Bahamian waters and he was the rec ip ient of numerous awards and honours , inc lud ing The Bahamas Chamber of Commerce D is t ingu ished Ci t izens Award for the Creat ive and Per forming Ar ts and The E . C lement Bethe l Award for Exce l lence in the Ar ts .
