MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE HEAD
I do hope that you were all able to get the tickets you required for the respective shows. This year we have been inundated with on line bookings and most of the shows have been sold out. Please also note that doors will be closed at the start of each concert for several reasons:
Courtesy to the musicians
Health and safety regulations
There will be musicians moving around the venue for many of the shows and space and lighting are critical
This week I was also able to ‘turn the sod’ of the new building. This is a huge development for the school especially as we are able to do this largely by ourselves (as a school) and not rely on too many sponsors. Please go and peek over the building fence to get an idea of the scale and location of the venue. It is really going to add great value to the school.
I would like to extend a warm and huge ‘thank you’ to the DPA committee, Grade 9 committee and the staff for putting this enormous and special event together. I am sure it is going to be one worth remembering as we celebrate 50 years.
Please enjoy the weekend with us.

HANDY TIPS WHEN TRAVELLING TO JAPAN
Bring Real Cash
You are advised to bring real cash rather than depending on your ATM card. Most of the Japanese ATMs don’t accept international cards. Please, don’t forget this important travel tip! Exchange your local currency at the airports all over Japan.
Take Your Shoes Off Please!
It is mandatory for you to take your beautiful shoes off. If you are heading to a friend’s house, shrines, temple, and Ryokan then you will have to do it, there is no way to avoid this! I know, you will respect our culture and traditions. But always use bathroom slippers when you have to go to a bathroom. Don’t worry, they will be provided in front of the entrance door.
Toilet Issue
Here in Japan, toilets seem to you very complex with their many interesting buttons. So you know what you have to do! Don’t get crazy seeing small and large size of toilets in hotels and public toilets.

Well done!
SNIPPETS FROM THE SAN
By golly – MiMs has simply sprung upon us! I suspect that my colleagues and the boys don’t have a clue where the last ten days have gone. Facial expressions have become increasingly pronounced and include an interesting range. Dazed, exhilarated, exhausted, anxious and excited feature regularly. Rabbit-in-the-headlights is my favourite. I’m hoping for some glimpses of mania (non-pathological) to brighten the scene – perhaps Chef is the one to watch?
Without a doubt, we are in for a festival of unparalleled brilliance and beauty. The joy, the bliss, the ecstasy that awaits! Let the show begin!
