Background• June 2013 – Governor Kasich signed Executive Order 2013-05K to

support Ohio’s veterans by ensuring they are receiving the appropriate credit and credentialing for their military training and experience.• As part of the Executive Order, the Governor also charged the

Chancellor of Ohio Board of Regents to work with the presidents of the University System of Ohio [USO] to conduct a thorough review of current institutional policies and practices, and to make recommendations for simplifying and improving the process for awarding college credit for military training, experience, and coursework.• Thus, the Valuing Ohio Veterans Report was created with a

comprehensive set of recommendations regarding what state departments, boards, commissions and our institutions of higher education can do to support Ohio’s veterans and service members.
