INSEAD’s Women in Business Conference
22nd November 2017, INSEAD Asia Campus
Social Disruption: Momentum for Change
The Business Schoolfor the World®
The INSEAD Women in Business Club is honored to welcome you to the second INSEAD Women in Business Conference in Singapore – the flagship gender parity event on campus.
Our club’s mission is to strive for gender equality while empowering women at INSEAD with the tools necessary to excel in the business world. This year is a special year for us and the whole INSEAD community as fifty years have passed since the first two female MBA candidates set foot on INSEAD’s Fontainebleau campus.
We want to use this anniversary to reflect on what has been achieved on the gender diversity front and to talk about actionable steps to move forward. In this spirit, we are proud of the distinguished speakers and attendees that have joined us today and are looking forward to the discussions during the day and beyond.
Marina Fenner MBA‘17D President of the INSEAD Women in Business Club
SOCIAL DISRUPTION: MOMENTUM FOR CHANGE
Following on from last year’s event, this year’s discussion will focus on gender diversity across functions and industries. While many initiatives have been put into motion, there is still a lot of work to be done and change that has to take place to ensure gender-parity across the globe. Achieving this change in perception as well as execution requires equal participation from corporates, academics, governments, religious institutions and most importantly a radical shift in our thinking process.
We are looking forward to exploring Social Disruption: Momentum for Change with our speakers and panelists tonight.

INSEAD CELEBRATES WOMEN
In 1967, INSEAD became one of the first business schools in the world to admit women to its MBA program when it welcomed Hélène Ploix and Solange Perret to the Fontainebleau campus.
By doing so, INSEAD effectively departed from the traditional business school model — as business schools were largely exclusive to men — and made a strong statement about gender parity in education. Both women went on to become highly successful leaders in finance and international business, respectively, paving the way for future generations of women at INSEAD.
As one of the first business schools in the world to admit women to its MBA program in 1967, INSEAD has come a long way in promoting gender parity in education.
To honor this 50-year milestone, the school launched iW50 (50 years of Women at INSEAD), a year-long celebration in which we honor the past, present and future of women at INSEAD, while also reaffirming a commitment — held equally by men and women at INSEAD — to equip women for success at every career stage and in every organization.
