At the age of 29, adventurer Alan Hobson set out to realize his greatest childhood dream. It took him 10 grueling expeditions to high altitude, three to Mt. Everest, and a decade of intense fundraising, training, and organizational effort before he finally stood on top of the world.

Incredibly, an even greater challenge lay ahead. Three years after stepping down from the summit of Everest, Alan came face-to-face with “The Everest of Illnesses” when he was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer of the blood and given less than a year to live. After a blood stem cell transplant for acute myeloid leukemia, he has beaten the odds again and is considered officially medically cured.

The story of Alan Hobson’s life is a breathtaking portrait in passion, persistence, and peak performance spanning four decades. He is not only an Everest climber, summiteer, and cancer survivor, but an international best-selling author of half a dozen books, a former nine-time All-American gymnast, marathon runner, hang glider pilot, white water kayaker, cold water scuba diver, parachutist, journalist, and winner of the prestigious William Randolph Hearst Award for Excellence in News Writing. Alan’s next expedition is the one he is currently on—to continue his miraculous climb back from cancer and help as many others as possible do the same.

Alan Hobson“My ‘Inner Everest’ has dwarfed the outer one. I see life now from a new perspective. Success isn’t about height. It’s about depth.”

Education doesn’t end in the classroom—it’s extended into the Industrial Exhibition through exhibits and exhibitor-sponsored programming. INS partners with many of the biggest names in the infusion industry, and all will be on hand to show you the latest technologies on the market and teach you how they can help you improve patient care.

Exhibits Speak directly with reps from nearly 100 medical device and pharmaceutical firms, see the newest advances in infusion therapy, and discover new solutions to your infu-sion nursing challenges. Many INS exhibi-tors wait to unveil their newest products at the INS Annual Convention each year, so don’t miss the opportunity to see this year’s infusion therapy-related product launches.

Phoenix. According to Greek mythology, the phoenix was a long-lived bird that was constantly regenerated or reborn. And so, you will find, is the city of Phoenix.

Much has changed since INS was last there, six years ago. You’ll find a revitalized downtown area with more restaurants, nightlife, and shopping than ever before. The addition of CityScape brings a new energy to the downtown area—with a Lucky Strike Bowling Alley, Stand Up Live comedy club, shops, and delectable dining options to suit any appetite—you’ll have plenty to enjoy each evening after the sessions end. Or, extend your stay, bring the family, and visit the Grand Canyon or Red Rocks and all that nature has to offer.

The city of Phoenix and INS are ready to welcome you to the Valley of the Sun.
