What You May Not Know

• Comment rows and columns are OK

• Input must be at the most basic level (the “zero” level)

• You cannot input to a summary field (an “upper level”)

“Dirty” cells are a sickly yellow

What You Don’t Know (and it WILL hurt you)

Formula rows and columns must not contain valid member namesIf you submit data from a cell with a formula in it, the cell remains dirty. If you hit submit again, your numbers will change and usually NOT for the better (unless you are doing interpolation).

What You Don’t Know (and it WILL hurt you)

Business Rules do not run after submitting data via an ad hoc

After submitting data, you must go to the appropriate form in the web client and click “save”. Rules run on save.Alternately, you could open the form in Smartview (you will have to toggle between Essbase and Planning connections) and save from there.
