In the creation and development of our brand, Kapitan, we took
on two
challenges for ourselves:
1. The manufacturing process
We devised technology that would allow us to manufacture
high-quality
products more quickly in order to have the best price-quality
relationship.
2. The material, stainless steel 18/10
Though stainless steel is exceptionally difficult to work with,
we have dedicated
ourselves to overcoming this challenge, as it lasts practically
forever under the
harshest of conditions. Even when exposed to the salty, wet sea
air, it maintains
its structural integrity. That is why all luxury yacht
accessories are made of
stainless steel. And аlso, stainless steel does not require any
decorative plating.

Stainless steel lasts forever because it forms a natural
protective
layer without plating that restores itself when damaged.
The chrome in stainless steel forms an invisible layer of
oxide
that protects the steel from corrosion, when it comes into
contact with the oxygen in the air. When compromised, this
layer is quickly restored.
The nickel allows the steel to shine like a mirror and gives
it
further strength.

Working with stainless steel 18/10* may be demanding, but
its
strength, anti-corrosive, and anti-bacterial properties make
it
second to none in certain demanding settings: public baths
and
toilets, kindergartens, medical facilities, restaurants, and
hotels.
Powder coating can maintain its finish up to 15 to 20 years.
Its
resistance to weather, corrosion, and chemicals makes powder
coating a more durable finish than paint or other liquid
coatings.
Powder coating is resistant to chipping, scratching, and
other
wear because of the thermal bonding it undergoes during
curing.
Powder coating is a dry finishing process that uses finely
ground
particles of pigment and resin that are electrostatically
charged
and sprayed onto electrically grounded parts. The charged
powder
particles adhere to the part and are held there until melted
and
fused into a uniform coating in a curing oven.
Unlike galvanization*, environmentally friendly powder
coating
contains no heavy metals, such as lead and cadmium. Eco-
friendly powder coating does not produce any hazardous
wastes
as by-products of the process.

20 19 | If the fixture you wish to install using 3M VHB Tape is
for extra heavy loads, we recommend first impregnating the
wall for even greater adhesion using 3M Primer 94.
The paint, wallpaper, laminate and veneer can be peeled
off from the base on which they are applied along with the
accessory glued to them. Grease, rust, dust, and dirt will
interfere with adhesion and the attached adhesive will fall.

Should you choose to change where your fixture is located,
simply use a knife to slice into the tape from the side.
Once
the fixture has been removed, any remains of the tape can be
cleaned off leaving no trace on the tiles!

Our fixtures and accessories, with their patented Kapitan
base,
allow for classic installation and are packed with all dowels

stainless steel screws needed. One shortcoming to this type

installation is that it requires special instruments and
skills.

Should you choose to change the fixture’s position on the
wall,

Our bathroom accessories are made of stainless steel
containing
16-18% chromium and 8-10% nickel. The standardized name of
the
popular steel name 18/10 is Grade 304. The content of
chromium
determines its resistance to corrosion. The added nickel
allows
polishing to a mirror shine, improves corrosion resistance at
high
temperatures and adds durability. This type of steel is often
used
for making utensils (e.g. pots, platters) and instruments of
the
highest quality and durability. Stainless can be called steel
with
at least 10.5% chromium-free while in 304 chrome is 16 to 18%.
In
contact with oxygen in the air, the chromium becomes
chromium
oxide, thus forming an invisible layer that protects the steel
from
rusting. If this layer is damaged, it quickly regenerates
again.
