Akahoshi Vienna Combo Prechopper AE-4183

Next Generation of Prechoppers......For Grades 3 to 5NEW

Inspired from the window of an old building in Vienna, this prechopper has broader surface with the same thickness and double edged blades as Combo IV. Broader blade has an advantage to provide better separation of the bisected nucleus especially in soft cataract which was difficult to prechop with the conventional prechoppers. It can also be used with Nucleus Sustainer for harder nuclei by Counter Prechop technique.

Akahoshi Combo IV Double Edge Prechopper AE-4198

Popular Combo Prechopper was modified to have thinner blades with double sharp edges. Much easier to penetrate into the nucleus by vertical Karate Prechop technique with less stress on the ciliary zonule. It can be used also for harder nuclei up to Grade 4- by horizontal Counter Prechop with Nucleus Sustainer AE-2530. This single prechopper can manage wider range of nuclei from Grade 1 to 4- by any prechop techniques.

Patent Pending

Akahoshi Sharp Paddle Prechopper AE-4199

This paddle shaped prechopper has no sharp angular edge. It was designed for soft nuclei up to Grade 2. Thin blades are easy to insert into the nucleus without stressing the ciliary zonule. As the notched side of the blade is blunt, it can separate the posterior plate of the nucleus quite safely very close to the posterior capsule. It is also suitable for completing the prechop in femtosecond laser fragmentation.

IOL Fixation & Glued Technique

Iris fixation of IOLs and other iris suturing techniques using the Siepser sliding suture require the hooking of a 9 or 10/0 prolene suture from the anterior chamber angle before externalising and tying the knot. This maneuver is repeated several times. The Chee suture retrieving hook is designed with this specific aim in mind and makes this tedious step simpler and safer.

This specially designed atraumatic forceps, designed in 23G, has gently sandblasted gripping surfaces that allow the surgeon to reach and hold onto the IOL optic or haptic as needed(Also available in 21G, AE-4907)

Chee Horizontal Haptic Grasping Forceps and Chee Vertical Haptic Grasping Forceps are specifically designed tips to grasp the tip of the haptic while retrieving through a sclerotomy. Both the Chee Horizontal and Vertical forceps are used at the same time to stabilize the IOL during fixation or gluing technique

• Small-sided beveled tip allows for easy opening of the side cut incision as well as identification and entry into the anterior and posterior lamellar planes

• Blunt dissector head allows for easy cleavage of tissue planes with minimal risk of perforation of the SMILE cap that can occur with sharper instruments

Elongated hook with laser lines on one side aids in appropriate identification of the correct planes and guides the surgeon to reach the instrument in relation to lenticule size. The dissector on the other end helps to release the lenticule from the cornea

• One end acts as a guide to help surgeon to the exact edge of the lenticule, the other end has a curved spoon shape to allow safe removal of epithelium
