Hunter Douglas has been at the forefront of creating beautiful, innovative fabrics to use on our entire line of window fashions, helping us become the industry leader for over 30 years. We do this by working closely with designers and textile artists to develop exclusive, contemporary textiles that will �lter light in unique ways. We have fabrics from the US, Canada, Turkey, Belgium, India, Switzerland, Spain, Germany, China and Japan.

We also create our own fabrics internally with a process that produces some of the most perfectly textured weaves. These fabrics have a classic and timeless woven look that �ts in well with even today’s contemporary decor. Perfect examples of these fabrics include the Batiste fabric line in Duette® Architella® honeycomb shades, Linen fabric in Pirouette® shadings, Alexa fabric in Solera® Soft Shades, and the Nouveau™ fabric in Silhouette® shadings.

Mica is a transparent mineral with highly re�ective and heat resistant qualities. Hunter Douglas utilizes an innovative way to use a dusting of Mica particles to create a unique �nish that utilizes the inherent qualities of Mica to create a beautiful shimmer.

An example is the Opalessence™ fabric used in Duette, Duette Architella® and Alustra® Duette Architella honeycomb shades.

At Hunter Douglas it is not just about selecting the most beautiful fabrics, it is also about selecting fabrics that we know have a chance to be engineered and developed successfully, so that they will perform and live up to the Hunter Douglas lifetime guarantee.

Each fabric goes through extensive testing in our test lab to evaluate the physical properties of the fabric such as stiffness, opacity, color fade, temperature and humidity capacity, and degradation, just name a few. Any fabric, may endure an average of 35 different tests.
