Innovative Practices That Partner Secondary and Post-Secondary Education
Infusing Programs of Study into ACP
• “A comprehensive, structured approach for delivering academic and career and technical education to prepare students for postsecondary education and career success.”
• According to Carl Perkins Legislation, a POS must, at a minimum:• Incorporate and align secondary and postsecondary education elements, • Include academic and CTE content in a coordinated, non-duplicative progression
of courses, • Offer the opportunity, where appropriate, for secondary students to acquire
postsecondary credits, and • Lead to an industry-recognized credential or certificate at the postsecondary level,
or an associate or baccalaureate degree.

“WAMPEN has provided the D. C. Everest School District with the
wonderful opportunity of bringing our core academic and career and
technical education teachers together to work on the common purpose
of applying math to real life applications. Our teachers are engaged
and enthusiastic and our students will see the true benefits of the
process- bringing math concepts to life.”

“I always assumed CTE teachers needed to work with math teachers for content expertise, but never realized how much math teachers need CTE teachers for application and common everyday use. This work really is a 50-50 split!”
