Our approach is to provide the most appropriate hazardous waste treatment for a specific site by assessing its unique challenges using all available information, including site history, environmental reports and proposed future use.

We have successfully delivered solutions for a wide range of organic and inorganic contamination problems on numerous complex remediation sites. This demonstrated experience allows a tailored solution for each project.

We are committed to minimising waste to landfill and maximising materials for on-site reuse or recycling. Using our extensive range of in-house equipment, we screen and segregate materials for recycling and treat soils to meet acceptable reuse classifications.

Materials tracking and cradle to grave stewardship are also central to the way we conduct our remediation work, ensuring and measuring environmental compliance for ourselves and our clients.

Remediation

We work with clients to deliver innovative, cost effective and sustainable remediation solutions that enable land to be cleaned up to the most commercially practicable extent.

We have successfully completed a number of thermal desorption remediation projects and safely processed materials with a range of contaminants. Owning and operating a range of direct fired desorption (DTD) and indirect fired desorption (ITD) systems, we offer our clients on-site land rehabilitation solutions that are cost competitive,

with guaranteed results to meet project deadlines. Our thermal treatment systems have proven success in remediating soils and wastes contaminated with complex organics such as polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) and petroleum hydrocarbons.

Thermal treatment and equipment

We deliver cost effective and sustainable thermal solutions for the management and treatment of persistent organic pollutants (POPs), petroleum hydrocarbons and metalloid contaminated soils.

We design, engineer and deliver site specific treatments for a range of contaminants, including PFAS, high salinity, hydrocarbons, dissolved solvents, heavy metals and phase separated liquids. Our technical expertise enables us to develop the most

appropriate approach to address the contaminant type, anticipated flow rates and required treatment criteria. We provide prompt, costed options for management of contaminated water from resource sector operations, industrial processes

or groundwater and wastewater from infrastructure projects. Our water treatment systems can be engineered to be temporary, semipermanent or permanent and cater for considerations such as automated operation, variable flow rates and inconsistent infeed.

Specialised water treatment

Using the latest technologies and research, we offer tailored water treatment, management and containment solutions to a wide range of industries including mining, government and petroleum.

Our mobile skid, truck and trailer mounted MPE and SVE units can be deployed for long or short term projects. The equipment can be used to assist with groundwater plume modelling (recharge rates and concentrations) and for longer term extraction campaigns.

The SVE units have the capability to recover hydrocarbon product from groundwater and

the MPE units can be used for extraction and capture of volatile contaminants from the soil vadose zone. The equipment is temporary and eliminates the need for costly capital equipment and long term operational costs associated with permanent MPE and SVE systems.

We offer in situ chemical oxidation of organic contaminants, including dense non-aqueous

phase liquid (DNAPL) using fully automated injection systems or manned and operated pumping systems.

We have extensive experience on projects where in situ remediation was performed through the delivery of nutrients such as sodium lactate and emulsified vegetable oil (EVO) for in situ bioremediation of chlorinated hydrocarbons.

In situ remediation

We operate a large inventory of mobile multi-phase extraction (MPE) and soil vapour extraction (SVE) units for in situ remediation, saving clients money on capital and operational costs.

“ Our technical expertise allows us to design, engineer and deliver individual solutions tailored for each project.”

Decontamination and waste management

A key component in the liability associated with former industrial facilities is the residual product or waste associated with remnant process infrastructure.

This can involve hydrocarbons, pyrophorics, fluorides, leachates, spent oxides, catalysts or other process by-products. The removal and appropriate management of these products and wastes is a critical step in the decommissioning process, to ensure protection of human health and the environment and to provide maximum asset value.

As a major remedial and decontamination solutions contractor in Australia, we are well resourced with an in-house accredited laboratory and expert engineering team that work efficiently with clients to develop decontamination and waste management solutions. This ensures that the infrastructure can be adequately validated, and is ready for the salvage or demolition process.

Remediation with civil and infrastructure

Our extensive and broad civil experience allows us to deliver market leading, value adding services to a wide range of clients in the government and private sectors.

Our in-house engineers and geologists understand the importance of wall stability techniques and how excavation methodologies and staging influence the need for off-site protection.

Many of these physical barriers can be dually utilised for gas or groundwater restriction. Typically referred to as cut-off

walls, they further reduce the need for environmental remediation by providing an impermeable, physical barrier.

Our in-house groundwater services support the development of these walls and commonly pump and treat or spear extract groundwater and rainwater during the excavation and construction process.

Our familiarity with different ground conditions allows us to choose the right solution from the start of project and to select the most appropriate plant and equipment to suit the existing ground.

For uncontrolled ground, where brownfield renewal is occurring, we have successfully implemented innovative use of impact rolling. This technique mitigates the need for costly re-excavation or an engineered solution.

We have used our experience to successfully deliver full service concrete construction works, including retention walls, continuous auger piles and end caps.

We complement our earthworks services with the ability to provide drainage installations and network connections. We work closely with hydraulic engineers to ensure the most proficient system is implemented at the project site.

Stability and containment techniques

We understand the challenges of a confined site requiring deep bulk earthworks and have experience in the construction of a range of retention and retaining walls.
