In its 5th year, functional fabrics trade show Performance Days brought together key mills and buyers in an informal
yet business-oriented setting. The only European materials trade show specifically for the activewear industry,
Performance Days comes early on the calendar, and is vital for those wanting a head start on the season. Smaller
than other shows like ISPO, the show offers an intimate setting for designers, buyers and textile manufacturers. Due to
the current financial climate, updated innovations (rather than costly new developments) were the backbone this
season, with many mills showcasing new takes on existing products and techniques. Nonetheless, the show supported
the growing demand for materials that cross between active sport and fashion. Attendees and exhibitors felt the
optimistic mood at the show was due to the ongoing trend for casual and relaxed looks with performance aspects.
