STEM 2 STEAM Arts Deliver Expression - Assuring Voice, Vision & ... Realization

TODAYS TOPICS WILL ADDRESS CREATIVE PERSPECTIVES

EMPOWERMENT FOR TODAY’S TEACHERS, LEADERS AND YOUTH

• Addressing CHANGE

• Creative tools for problem solving, “Democratizing Design”

• Experiential Learning, new thinking styles & skills

• Developing new environments and goals/ IDEA to Innovation

• Intent to Impact

• Techniques for approach and application/ to solidify - ex. A word or an image is an “Actuator”

• Resolving the language barrier between subjects and disciplines

This workshop will ask questions the group will address, to determine solutions in activities/ new teaching techniques, course alignment, delivery modifications, material presentation & view challenges. We don’t need to change the world; we just need to change our view of it to make it better.

Only through creativity & expression will we find the conver-gence point for all subjects to engage in universal appeal & strategy. We can no longer afford to think of any subject being separate or more important for an individual’s growth and fulfilment. It is our job to ensure a clear path to success.

What’s Next?

Students & teachers benefit when free to take learning risks, experiment in “outside the box” /

creative and divergent thinking, and accept challenges when they are not overshadowed by a

fear of failure. Simply stated, the freedom to engage in an imaginative and exploratory approach

to action contributes to innovation. Students in grade school have not had an opportunity for

this type of instruction/learning environment due to fear of receiving bad grades on a project,

losing required credits or hurting their GPA’s. Students must be given unique opportunities to

develop problem solving skills and to think more dimensionally and freely engage “Applied Arts”

study. We have learned they will act open-mindedly and more imaginatively when they have

this opportunity. They work better in groups and on teams when a challenging project based

“Innovation” is the goal. Through these experiences they realize a sense of empowerment and

truly connect to the mind’s eye- their dreams and visions. Frankly, they wake up. They connect

the dots, and adopt leadership qualities in voice and reason.
