Section 3 – How the project will meet our aims

The programme aims to support the Money Advice Trust help more people, more effectively, through funding projects which:

1. Empower individuals and microbusinesses to tackle their debts and improve their financial health

2. Support staff in charities across the UK to provide effective debt and/or money advice 3. Improve the UK’s money and debt environment through the dissemination of

successful practice from funded projects Applicants need to demonstrate how their projects will meet either aims one or two while assisting the Trust in achieving aim three.

Section 4 – Innovation and learning

We fund innovative projects. By innovation we mean replicable new approaches or resources which attempt to solve problems of how to engage with, or more effectively support our clients. We are therefore looking for projects that display ‘a first of their kind’ or emerging practice approach. This may include:

• How they deliver debt/money advice – These can be different models of delivery, products or materials produced

and/or

• Who they deliver debt/money advice to – These can be groups and/or individuals

whose specific needs are not currently catered for. Please note - The Money Advice Trust (MAT) does not fund the following types of projects:

• Projects which are similar to MAT’s own services (National Debtline, Business Debtline, My Money Steps, and Wiseradviser).

• Replacement funding for existing services • Projects where delivery methods and audience served duplicate existing services.
