DISPENSING SYSTEMS

COMECER CLIO VOLUMETRIC DISPENSER FOR RADIOPHARMACEUTICALS

The Comecer CLIO is a stand-alone automatic dispensing system compliant with cGMP guidelines for radiopharmaceuticals. Its main purpose is to dispense FDG as a radiotracer, but it can also be used, after a technical evaluation, for different tracer isotopes or molecules.

CLIO is designed to dispense both vials (open or closed) and syringes. It can receive stand-alone radiopharmaceuticals from a multidose vial or the synthesis module.

Thanks to its “rocket” shape, the laminar flow action is fully guaranteed so the dispensing can be performed in open vial or through the rubber cap (transseptal).

The pre-assembled and sterile consumable kit is compact and easy to handle. The same kit is used for the dispensing of both vials or syringes.

Many sensors and diagnostic tools supervise the operation cycle (i.e. consumable kit installation, vial cap presence, vial crimping check). CLIO can be easily installed in laminar flow hot cells equipped with a dose calibrator. Due to its compact dimensions and low weight it is easy to handle and move in and out of the hot cell.

COMECER INTEGRATED RADIOPHARMACEUTICAL DISPENSING AND INFUSION SYSTEM (IRIDE)

Comecer’s Integrated Radiopharmaceutical Dispensing and Infusion System (IRIDE), can inject a patient with a FDG single-dose starting from a multi-dose vial. The IRIDE is compact, easy to move and is battery operated.

Features

• Injects FDG into patients starting from Multi-Dose vial

• FDG Multi-Dose vial loaded on IRIDE directly with its own shipping container

• Incoming FDG activity up to 700mCi – 25,9 GBq

• Dose-rate less than 20 μSv/h at 100mm from external surface

• No limits on FDG volume and concentration

• Incoming FDG can be totally delivered to patients; no waste is generated

• CE labelled as Medical Device

With the IRIDE, the radioactive product is completely contained in a sterile/disposable kit. After each patient injection, only the terminal part must be changed.

FDG total activity is measured by an ionization chamber. The FDG multi-dose vial is directly loaded into the machine with its own shipping container. IRIDE is designed for use with most commercially available containers.

COMECER WIRELESS INJECTION SYSTEM (WIS)

The Comecer WIS, or Wireless Injection System, is an electronic system for the injection of radiopharmaceuticals with wireless control through a software monitoring system.

The WIS (Wireless Injection System) project was conceived with the purpose to find alternative solutions to the current way of working, to minimise ionizing radiation exposure of personnel operating in PET centres.

The purpose of this system is to administer the radiotracer for PET diagnostic or therapy automatically, reducing considerably the exposure of medical personnel that give the injections. It must be used exclusively for intravenous injections of radiotracers used in PET diagnostics. It can also be used with all patients who need a bolus injection.*

Features

• A peristaltic pump helps avoid any contact between the pumping/control system and the fluid or medicine to be injected

• The tungsten syringe container shields gamma radiation at 511 keV

• The operator is kept away from the radiation source through the introduction of an automatic system with a wireless remote control option

• The WIS is small and lightweight, allowing for simple handling and moving

• Thanks to the use of lithium batteries, the power supply is kept independent from the main network

*Please note: The doctor is fully responsible for choosing the proper dose and injection speed, according to the patient’s need (i.e. children, elderly people and patients having specific clinical conditions). The WIS system must be used exclusively in environments that allow the use of radioisotopes and the execution of PET diagnosis, and only by skilled medical and authorised personnel. The operator’s surveillance is compulsory during the bolus injection.
