Riverside Inyo Mono San Bernardino Science and Engineering Fair
Riverside, Inyo, Mono and San Bernardino (RIMS) Inland Science & Engineering
Fair was held on April 2-3, 2013, at the National Orange Show Events Center in
San Bernardino and Riverside Municipal Auditorium in Riverside. It was a huge
success. This year we had nine hundred and thirty two (932) students participat-
ing in the Science and Engineering fair. They came from eighty three (83) School
Districts and private schools representing three hundred and thirty three schools
(333). RIMS sent sixty seven (67) projects to the State Science Fair. They placed
five 1st place, two 2nd place, one 3rd place, five 4th place, and five Honorable Men-
tions. One project received SCAQMD Air Quality/Climate Change Award and
the other received Honorable Mention for American Institute of Aeronautics and
Astronautics (AIAA) Award. Four projects were sent to compete at the Intel In-
ternational Science and Engineering Fair in Phoenix, Arizona.

On Thursday, May 2, 2013 the Inland Empire Section PECG participated
in the “2013 Bring Your Child to Work Day” activities at the Caltrans District 8 office in San Bernardino. They had the unique educational op-
portunity of getting to know how the Department of Transportation works, to talk and learn from people who do the jobs at Caltrans and ex-plore possible future careers for themselves. The Inland Empire Section
Presentation was on building bridges with popsicle sticks. We also showed some of the videos from our PECG Video Gallery.
