J&K Bank PGTI Pahalgam Masters Angad Cheema’s team wins Pro-Am event Pahalgam, July 6: Angad Cheeman and his team won the Pro-Am event of the J&K Bank PGTI Pahalgam Masters at the Lidder Valley Golf Course here on Sunday. The Pro-Am was played in the team scramble format where the team’s best ball was chosen on every shot including the putting green. After the best ball was chosen all other play- ers were to place their ball within one Score Card Length before continuing play. Each team consisted of one professional and three amateurs. Several eading amateur golfers from Jammu & Kashmir compet- ed at the Pro-Am event. PGTI member Angad Cheema led his team to vic- tory with a score of 53.7. Cheema’s team comprised amateurs Abrar Khwaja, Parvez Fazli and Parvez Bakshi. PGTI member Jyoti Randhawa’s team finished second with a score of 54.5. Randhawa’s team comprised amateurs S M Sahai, Riyaz Fazli and Rajiv Bal. Abrar Khwaja won the prize for the closest shot to the pin on Hole No. 3 where his tee shot landed within two feet and five inches of the pin. The prize for the longest drive on Hole no. 14 was won by O P Singh whose drive landed at a distance of 280 yards. The J&K Bank PGTI Pahalgam Masters winner Om Prakash Chouhan also received his cheque and trophy during the Pro-Am prize presentation. The prizes were given away by ADGP, J&K Police SM Sahai, Former Chairman, J&K Bank M Y Khan and Director, Kashmir Events Organization Danish Aman. The inaugural match of the tournament was played between Youth Cricket Club Mulgam and Gurukul Reds Dhobiwan. "They took away my dream of playing in a World Cup final, but the dream of being world champion has not ended," Neymar said in remarks released by the Bra- zilian football federation. "There are two games left and I am sure my teammates will do everything to lift the trophy," he said. The Brazil squad applaud- ed the 22-year-old Barcelona striker at an emotional fare- well at their Teresopolis camp before he was taken to Rio de Janeiro by helicopter. Neymar was ruled out of the rest of the World Cup after Colombian defender Juan Zuniga kneed him in the back in a challenge in Friday's quarter-final. Brazil play Ger- many in the semi-finals on Tuesday. FIFA said it is investi- gating the incident to see whether disciplinary pro- ceedings are necessary. And Zuniga again insisted Saturday that there was no malicious intent in his chal- lenge.
