Preparing the Medication1. Determine what type of injection you are

giving2. Assemble the medication and needle.

1. Remove the needle cover.2. Insert the syringe needle into the rubber center on

the top of the medicine bottle.3. Pull the plunger back to a mark at the prescribed

amount of medication.4. Inspect the medication in the syringe for air

bubbles5. Push the plunger until the air bubbles are removed.

Preparing the Medication3. Determine the injection site4. Insert the needle quickly and carefully

at the proper angle5. Inject the medicine into the patient.

○ Push the plunger down until all of the fluid has been released.

6. Remove the needle quickly

to body surfaces to treat varying ailments creams, foams, gels, lotions and ointments.
