Aim and Purpose• The purpose of this slide show is so that I can present

my ideas of the different types of magazines and target audiences I may consider in my magazine

• I have looked at three genres of magazines. I have thought about the target audiences, the lifestyles, ages and genders, and also the house style for each magazine. I have also given examples of two magazines from that genre, which I have also taken inspiration from.

• I would like my peers to give me their opinions of each of my ideas and participating in choosing my final genre of magazine.

Idea One - Pop• My first idea is to create a music

magazine on the Pop genre.

• The target audience will range between 10 - 14 and it will be aimed at females. The audience will be a student who attends secondary school.

• The house style of the magazine will consist of a colour scheme of pinks, white, light blues and purples. The font will be easy to read and simple, an example would be American Typewriter.

• I have taken inspiration from the following magazines: Top of the Pops, and Smash Hits

Idea Two - Rap• My second idea is to create a music

magazine on the Rap genre.

• The target audience will range between 13 - 20 and it will be aimed at males. Their lifestyle may be that they go out to clubs, and that they are interested in cars, jewellery, etc.

• The house style of the magazine will consist of a colour scheme of dark and dull with some bright colours which stand out. The font will be bold, an example would be Arial Black

• I have taken inspiration from the following magazines: Vibe, and Murder Dog

Idea Three - Metal• My Third idea is to create a music

magazine on the Metal genre.

• The target audience will range between 14 - 25 and it will be aimed at males and females. The audience will either be students attending college or secondary school, or someone interested in the music industry and may be a band member.

• The house style of the magazine will consist of a colour scheme of dark colours with bright colours for the text to make it bold and easy to read. The font will be Arial Hebrew.

• I have taken inspiration from the following magazines: Metal Hammer, and Kerrang.

Peer Feedback• I think you should create a metal

magazine as you have good knowledge of the audience it would be aimed at and have good ideas of what could be included in it.

• The idea that I liked the most is the third idea, because it sounds like something that I would usually read, and the house style and everything sounds good and well thought out.

Final decision

• With the help of my peers, i have decided to create and produce a

new Metal Music Magazine.
