Target audience: (age range, interests)

My target audience is people who enjoy listening to country and western music.

Possible title ideas: (masthead / title block)What is your magazine going to be called?

My magazine is going to be called ‘Mandolin CM’ – Mandolin being a highly appreciated musical instrument in country and western music and CM standing for country music.

Main image:What will be the focal point of your front page, remember, your work

As my front cover I would like to have a girl sitting under a tree holding a guitar as if she is playing it. I want to have this style of image as my man image because the acoustic guitar is a main element that generally symbolises country and Western music and so fits with my genre.

Main cover line:What will be the main story?

The main cover story will be an interview with a new and popular music artist that is from the country and western music genre in order to appeal to my target audience.

Additional key images:What other images will be on your front cover?

On my front cover I would like to have a smaller picture of a group of people who are a potential new music band or harmonising group.

Additional cover lines:Other features, stories or selling points which will be inside the magazine, these need to be audience appropriate.

Articles about new album releases and what he songs entail.Information about upcoming tour datesSmall interviews about new songs and ideas with smaller scale artists

Typography: (style, size, colour of copy)Think about the writing and the style of the writing on your front page.

ScriptMTBoldGrey coloured writing

Background colour/image:What will be in the background, remember you don’t want to take the focus away from the main image.

The background colour will be light blue because the colour blue reflects country music as it’s a calming and mellow colour just as the genre of music is calm and mellow. The main image of a girl with a guitar will be the main background image also so not to take any focus away from it being the main image. However, there might be a countryside look to the background, for example trees or fields.

Technical considerations:(equipment, setting, props, costume, lighting)Be realistic and creative, think about what you have access to and how you could use it.

My main image will include a naturalistic setting that is easily accessible to me because there is natural light and settings all around. The main prop will be a guitar and I would like for my artist to be dressed in a check shirt and denim jeans/dungarees and potentially a country style hat.

Double Page Spread:(what will be the main article in your magazine?)This will need to be the main story on your cover, what detail will be featured inside?

My double page spread will be an interview of a popular artist about themselves but also about their new album that they are releasing and what inspired them to write the songs on the album. There will also be pictures of them on the double page spread so that people know who the article is about if they are not sure who the artist it.
