Estos son comentarios acerca de algunas cosas interesantes que los niños hicieron esta semana: …We had a great week here at the Ausangate Nursery. Here are a few comments about some interesting things the kids did this week: Celebramos a la Tierra – Celebramos la Vida El día de la Tierra es una de las expresiones más significativa y eco- lógicas que tenemos para celebrar la vida. Hoy viernes 22 de abril, el día de la Tierra, en el Nido realizamos diversas actividades para celebrar nuestro amor, responsabilidad y compromiso por la Tierra, con el medio ambiente y el entorno que nos rodea. Los ni- ños y niñas del Nido sembraron diversas semillas en nuestra parce- la, también reflexionaron y se comprometieron con diversas activi- dades para el cuidado del medio ambiente. Fue un día de mucha reflexión y solidaridad. Ojalá puedan conversar en casa sobre este tema importante. Simulacro de Sismo Hoy viernes 22 de abril los niños del Nido del Ausangate, participa- ron del “Primer Simulacro Nacional Escolar de Sismo y Desastres 2016”, ejercicio que nos permite estar prevenidos y preparados ante un desastre natural. They also identified different parts of the body through different exercises. Preschool: Miriam Aparicio y Camu Ortiz Los niños esta semana aprendieron una canción referida los hábitos de higiene. También mediante la rutina de pensamiento “Veo- Pienso-Me pregunto”, los niños describieron la acción de lavarse las manos y la responsabilidad que tiene para cuidar su cuerpo y sa- lud. / This week the children learned a song related to healthy hygiene habits. They also applied the Visible Thinking Routine, “See, Think, Wonder” to discover the importance of handwashing and their responsibility in taking care of their body and health. PreKinder Español: Yudy Carpio y Edurne Robles Los niños esta semana han llevado a cabo una indagación relacionada a las consecuencias que sus hábitos están teniendo sobre el Planeta Tierra y el modo en el que todos podemos ayudar a revertirlas. También desarrollaron los atributos de solidarios e informados enviando mensajes de aliento a las personas damnificadas en el terremoto de Ecuador. / The children this week carried out an inquiry related to the impact our habits are having on the Planet Earth and how we can help to reverse this impact. They also developed their caring and knowledgeable attributes by sending words of encouragement to people affected by the earthquake in Ecuador. Celebramos a la Tierra – Celebramos la Vida

El día de la Tierra es una de las expresiones más significativa y eco-

lógicas que tenemos para celebrar la vida. Hoy viernes 22 de

abril, el día de la Tierra, en el Nido realizamos diversas actividades

para celebrar nuestro amor, responsabilidad y compromiso por la

Tierra, con el medio ambiente y el entorno que nos rodea. Los ni-

ños y niñas del Nido sembraron diversas semillas en nuestra parce-

la, también reflexionaron y se comprometieron con diversas activi-

dades para el cuidado del medio ambiente. Fue un día de mucha

Hoy viernes 22 de abril los niños del Nido del Ausangate, participa-

ron del “Primer Simulacro Nacional Escolar de Sismo y Desastres

2016”, ejercicio que nos permite estar prevenidos y preparados

ante un desastre natural. Nuestros niños participaron activamente

y con mucha responsabilidad.

Celebrating the Earth - Celebrating Life

Earth Day is an important ecological moment to celebrate life.

Today, April 22nd, Earth Day, the Nursery engaged in a variety of

activities to celebrate our love, responsibility, and commitment to

Reemplazo en Pre-Kinder y Kinder Español

Queremos felicitar a la profesora Yudy Carpio por el nacimiento

de su hijo y desarle mucha suerte en esta etapa de ser mamá y

le damos la bienvenida a nuestro equipo de trabajo a la profeso-

ra Mariela Sotomayor, quien reemplaza a Yudy en las aulas de

Pre-Kinder y Kinder español, y que trabajará junto con la profeso-

ra Edurne.

Enfermedades

Hemos tenido niños y niñas del nido que han estado enfermos

esta semana. Es muy normal que los niños pequeños se enfermen

con más frecuencia cuando comienzan a ir al nido. Sólo les pedi-

ríamos que vigilen a sus hijos y no los envíen cuando tengan ma-

lestar, fiebre, diarrea, o cuando es evidente que se sienten mal.

Substitute Spanish Pre-Kinder and Kinder Teacher

We would like to congratulate teacher Yudy Carpio on the birth

of her son and wish her well in motherhood. At the same time, we

would like to welcome teacher Mariela Sotomayor, who is substitu-

ting for Yudy in Spanish Pre-Kinder and Kinder working with teacher

Edurne.

Sickness

We have had several children here at the nursery who have been

sick these past weeks. It is very normal for young children to beco-

me sick more frequently when they begin a new child care pro-

gram. We would just request that you monitor your children and

not send them when they have fever or diarrhea or when it is clear

that they are feeling unwell. Thank you for your understanding.
