We’re not short on staff and agents willing to give time to a worthy cause. A new organization garnering our support this

year was Rebuilding Together. During our national Fusion event earlier this year in Las Vegas, the company announced our national philanthropic partnership with this nonprofit organization.

We are the exclusive residential real estate

brand partner to the nonprofit organization that provides

critical repairs, accessibility modifications and energy-

efficient upgrades to those unable to maintain their homes, including elderly, disabled and low-income homeowners. October 17th saw our people grab their hammers to help rehabilitate four homes in the Houston area. This will be an ongoing project, so if you missed helping out the first time, we’ll make sure to let you know of upcoming opportunities to lend a hand.

It’s been a fantastic year in fundraising for Gary Greene Agents! Our combined efforts this year have resulted in donations totalling almost $200,000 with The Sunshine Kids and Triumph Over Kid Cancer sharing the proceeds of our events.

The efforts began in April, with the Katy office’s annual SunshineFest raising over $65,000 thanks to matching grants and the generosity of their agents, sponsors and volunteers. The SunshineFest was held indoors this year at the FaithWest Academy, and Katy had fun with a fifties Hop theme, with poodle skirts and bowling shirts as far

as the eye could see. Fun and games and auctions were everywhere! In October, There was a new location and a new fundraising record for the Champions office annual Sunshine Kids FunFest. Just over $30,000 was raised by the dinner, live and silent auctions and family fun fair attractions offered this year at the Gleannloch Farms Clubhouse in Spring. “We decided to go with more of a family-focused event this year with special attractions for children,” said manager Sharon Teusink. As a result, attendance and the amount raised more than doubled from the previous year with many families attending from Gleannloch and surrounding communities. And finally, our Bay Area office came together to host the “Surfin Safari for the Sunshine Kids”, which raised $100,000 for the kids!

Surfin Safari was held at the Pavilion at Clear Lake Park, with auctions, drinks, dinner, dancing with a DJ and celebrity guests including, as always, G.W. Bailey, actor extraordinaire and Executive Director of the Sunshine Kids. The $100k was an impressive increase of over $8,000 more than last year!

Gary Greene has been a longtime supporter of the Sunshine Kids, whose mission is to add quality of life to children with cancer by providing them with exciting, positive group activities, so they may once again do what kids are supposed to do- have fun and celebrate life! Our newest non-profit that we support, Triumph Over Kid Cancer, was established by company friend and Sunshine Kid James Ragan and family. James saw firsthand the effect of the critical funding gap for research into pediatric cancer research. From 2006 onwards, James dedicated the remainder of his life to raising awareness and funds for this cause. TOKC continues the fight

for awareness and support of the children battling pediatric cancers, and Gary Greene will always give our support to these worthwhile charities.

We welcome veteran real estate agent Bea Flores! Bea has been named Manager of the Friendswood office and will provide management, training and marketing support while expanding the firm’s presence into League City and the surrounding communities.
