InStep

InStep is Infosys' flagship global internship program. They attract talent from thebest global academic institutions, from management, technical and liberal artsbackgrounds. InStep fosters a multi-cultural environment within theorganization. They also benefit from the diverse perspectives of a best-in-classtalent pool. InStep was established in 1999 by N.R. Narayana Murthy, one of Infosys' founders.He has been the Chief Mentor of InStep since its inception. InStep has amembership of 650 alumni. In 2008-2009, the program hired 175 talentedprofessionals from 95 top universities for strategic projects.Stipend, airfare, accommodation, 'Intern Excursion' and other benefits. You willreceive a monthly stipend. The stipend is structured according to the cost of livingin the region that you are based during your internship period. till 12.30 they take the classes and afternoons we are given assignments on thatday’s topic and supposed to finish and submit by next day morning 9. Total trainingis divided into two parts generic for one and half month (general topics 9 modules)and stream specific training (like java or .net or mainframes or opensystem etc) for2 and half months. Environment of teaching is really good. Tests are tough and theevaluation procedure is also very strict. We are supposed to get 65% in every testand there is negative marking too. They conduct test on completion of eachmodule. Infosys training tests are designed for average people only. The key to success isthat “Focus only on the Printed material given to you”. All the asked questions willbe from the material. If you are from a Non CS/IT background then you are put intolong cycle. If from CS/IT then you’ll be undergoing fast track training. If some onefrom CS/IT stream fails in the fast track training, then he will be shifted to Longcycle. He enjoys 1.5 + 3 months of training.
