Equestrian Team 2009-2010 The Equestrian Team is a spring activity - the show season started in February and state compe-tition is in May in Wenatchee. Stu-dents can join in October and should see Kim Quiles or Kathy Kieff . This is a community spon-sored and run club that is open to anyone in the school district. Team members can com-pete in any discipline: English, Western, Showmanship, Carting, or Gaming, and do not have to be sea-soned or experienced riders. The first show in Vancou-ver was great. The "A" drill team placed second in district 2, which also includes Yelm, Eatonville,

Elma, La Center, Enumclaw, and W.F. West. All the kids did a great job of competing and the par-ents were very supportive and helpful. Team members currently at BHS: Andrew Thompson, Austin Kieff, Giuliana Quiles, and Ashley Valdez. Students can come from any High School in the district including Challenger and On-line. They can also compete as 9th graders from any of the junior highs.

Communicating with your student’s teachers One feature of Family & Student Access is that the teachers’ e-mail contact information is available. By clicking on their e-mail address, you can send a message to the teachers. If your questions are of a more complex nature, we recommend arranging a personal meeting with the teacher.

Brought to you by the Bethel High School Prevention Team: New Institute of Medicine Report: Data consistently demonstrates that secondhand-smoke exposure increases the risk of coronary heart disease and heart attacks and that smoking bans reduce heart attacks. Given the prevalence and the resultant deaths, smoking bans save more than half a million lives each year in the U.S. alone.
