It is a great pleasure for me to welcome you to Molde University College - Specialized University in Logistics. You have come to a specialized university with modern facilities situated in beautiful surroundings. We hope that our study programmes together with the welfare offers of the Student Welfare Organization will provide you the conditions for a good and exciting time as a student at our specialized university.
Molde University College aims at providing a learning environment that enables you to succeed as a student. However, we also believe that your achievement increases the more you get involved, not only in your academic studies, but also with other students and faculty staff. Molde University College ‐ Specialized University in Logistics
The main campus at Molde University College ‐ Specialized University in Logistics (HiMolde), is located 3 km west of the city centre of Molde. Most of the students conduct their studies here. On campus you will find classrooms, auditoriums, study rooms for groups, library, a bookstore and two cafeterias. HiMolde also offers bachelor’s programmes in Petroleum Logistics and Nursing at the campus in Kristiansund.

The Student Services
The Student Services offers the first line service for students and others who contact our specialized university. The Student Services might help you directly, or you can be redirected to another staff member. The Student Services is located in the Main Building A, close to the main entrance.

Student information. Please make sure that your address and phone number are correctly listed at all times.
KID‐number and bank account number in order for the degree students to pay their semester fee. Degree students should only use the KID‐number they have been allocated. International Exchange students (Erasmus etc.) do not have to pay the semester fee.

Fronter Molde University College’s computer based learning system, including information on study programmes, messages from lecturers, information about handing in assignments etc. Study programmes and courses are organised in separate rooms at Fronter. The first information you meet when you have logged on to Fronter, is your personal start up page, showing the latest updates of the information you can access.
Log on to Fronter: https://fronter.com/himolde/login/feide To get access to the courses at Fronter, you have to register for these courses at StudentWeb. This should be done at semester start, and at latest by 1 September. Usually students can access their courses at Fronter the day after their registration at StudentWeb. Assignments are usually handed in electronically at Fronter. At Fronter you will have access to a room for
assignments if you are writing major works or project assessments. In this assignment room, there will be a
link to the layout with a front‐page, links to instructions and other relevant information.

Registration for courses and regular examinations takes place by approval of the education plans at StudentWeb within given deadlines. Students have to do this every semester.
Registration to new and resit/retake examinations takes place by registering for courses at StudentWeb. Deadlines for registration will be announced at the homepage.
Withdrawal from examinations The last deadline for withdrawal from examinations is two weeks prior to the examination date. This goes for regular, as well as for new and resit/retake exams. However, please inform the Faculty Administration as soon as possible if you do not intend to sit for the examination. Special needs during examinations Students in need of special arrangements during examinations due to medical or other reasons can apply for this. Your needs must be documented by a medical statement issued from a doctor or by another health professional. E‐mail Personal computer
The University College requires that students have their own personal computer to be used for education
purposes and to attend digital exams. The computer needs to have an operative system which can handle
modern software and digital teaching methods.
E‐mail address As a student at Molde University College ‐ Specialized University in Logistics, you will have the e‐mail address according to the following system: <[email protected]> . Please check your e‐mail on a regular basis. Student ID All students will receive a card that is a Student ID and entrance key card combined. The card has a personal pin‐code. The Key Card can be used to enter the buildings at Kvam after opening hours. The card can also be activated to use for printing. The student card is valid when the student has paid the semester fees. You can get a sticker, which shows that you have paid the semester fee at Student Service. You can also down load a Digital Student ID, for more information: http://www.fellesstudentsystem.no/studentbevis/english.html Mailboxes for students Postal letters for students are placed in these boxes. Please check them on a regular basis. You can find the mailboxes at the A‐building, opposite the Student Services.
The Library
Our Library is open for everyone. The library offers books, journals and a number of online databases (subscriptions are valid for students and staff). The library is a place for studies and a meeting place, where you can search information, find literature, study, read, learn, write and produce. If you need help or have questions, just contact the library through the information desk, email or phone. You find the library at the top floor, A‐building. The Computer/ IT Centre
As a student you receive an account with your own home area for storing your data at our central server, in addition to your own e‐mail address. Your user account gives you access to HiMolde’s computers, the wireless net Eduroam, Studentweb and Fronter. The Student Parliament The Student Parliament is an independent organisation with the aim to work for the students’ professional, democratic, economic and welfare interests. The Student Society The Student Society is a voluntary organisation run by students for students, with the aim to ensure that students are offered different leisure time activities while studying in Molde. Leave of absence from your studies – contact your International Coordinator.
Student card. Your student card has an integrated key card function, and you will receive a personal pin code. This will give you access to the Molde University College’s buildings outside opening hours. The card is only valid with a semester fee sticker. Degree students can first collect the semester sticker at the Student Services after their payment of the semester fee has been registered. International exchange students (Erasmus etc.) do not have to pay the semester fee.
