    What does

    GRADUATION mean?

    It means that the university grants an academicdegree to a student who has successfullycompleted all the requirements for that degree.

    For graduation, you, as a

    student must:PASS all your coursesCore

    MajorsNon-Academic (PE and NSTP)

    PASS your other requirements

    (OJT/Practicum, etc.)

    Obtain a SENIOR QPI of 2.00

    Be cleared of all discipline cases/sanctions

    Notes

    You must take the same NSTP 1 and NSTP 2. If one isLTS and the other CWTS, you will not be allowed tograduate.

    For Athle tes and Athle tic Managers: Make sure youdo not have INC or * grades for any PE or NSTP.

    A grade ofW has the same consequences as an F.

    All courses required for a minor must be completed bythe time you graduate.

    Graduation HonorsCumulati ve QPI of:

    3.87 - 4.00 = Summa Cum Laude

    3.70 - 3.86 = Magna Cum Laude3.50 - 3.69 = Cum Laude

    3.35 - 3.49 = Honorable Mention

    To be eligible for Graduation Distinction, students must havecompleted a minimum of80 percent of the total number ofunits required for graduation in their program in the LoyolaSchools and only resident credits shall be included in the

    computation.

    What happens if you dont finish therequirements?

    If a student has successfully passed all course requirements butdoes not reach the 2.00 required senior QPI, he receive a

    Transcript of Records saying:

    The student...

    DOES NOT receive the degree.DOES NOT receive a diploma.DOES NOT graduate.DOES NOT participate in the graduation ceremonies.

    If the student had already been placed on academic

    probation, there is no appeal.

    If the student had never been placed on academicprobation, the studentmay appeal to the Standards

    Committee to be allowed to take addit ional courses in orderto increase his/her senior QPI.

    If the appeal is turned down or the condit ions are not met,thestudent does not graduate.

    If a student fai ls a course or has not completed all his

    required courses and fails to reach the required senior yearQPI of 2.00, the student must appeal either:

    A - for probation, or

    B - to finish course requirementsThe Standards Committee will decide on the conditions forpossible graduation.

    If the student had already been placed on academicprobation, there is no appeal to be allowed to graduate. Thestudent may, however, be allowed to appeal to finish courserequirements.

    A student is officially registered when he/shecompletes:

    Enlistment in advised classesPayment of assessed feesID validat ion

    Deadline forcompletion of registration for FirstSemester of SY 2012-2013 is June 30, 2012.

    Enlistment is not enough to place you on the officialclass list. The ent ire registration process must becompleted.

    No you are not official ly enrolled because you have notcompleted registration.

    RegistrationI am not on the official class list but my teacher gave me a

    grade.

    No grade will be entered in the students official transcript ofrecords unle ss he/she is officially enrolled... even if a

    teacher says that the student completed classrequirements

    And since no official grade is recognized, graduation will beDELAYED. The student wil l have to official ly enrol l in theclass at a later term.

    Academic ClearanceAll students leaving the Loyola Schools must complete

    academic clearance.

    Forms must be downloaded from students AISIS account.

    Students who do not complete clearance wil l not beentitled to their scholast ic documents. This will prevent

    the student from:

    Applying for further studiesLooking for workSecuring travel permits and visasConfirming graduation

    Check your IPS!!!

    All subjects in your degree should have a Status of Por E to graduate.

    Even one subject with a Status of N will preventgraduation.

    Classes with category EXS may be validated for Nclasses with offering departments approval. Pleaseprocess a request for validation of subjects andsubmit the approved form to the Registrars Office.

    Seniors may over load a maximum of six units beyondtheir regular curricular load without going over 24units.
