Who is your advisor?
• IMAS regulation No.9
Proposal defense
• Application: Two weeks before proposal defense day
• Student needs to arrange the time• Turn in the application form and one hard copy
of the proposal to IMAS office, and provide the time to IMAS office
• Location will be arranged by IMAS office• The office will send the official letters to the
committee
Proposal defense
• The elements of the proposal: Regulation, No 7-4
• Send the hard copy to your committee member as early as possible
Thesis defense
• Turn in the application due: Jan 5 in Fall, June 10 in Spring (thesis draft is not required)
• Can I change the advisor? Yes, but not recommended
• Set up the oral defense time by students; the location will arranged by IMAS office
• Similar to the proposal defense
Departure process
• May take 2 weeks or so• Uploading thesis: go to IMAS website
