    Lead Instructor: Jeremiah Kidd is an internationally renowned permaculture designer and educator from Sante Fe (New Mexico, USA). Jeremiah has been working in the Permaculture, natural building and alternative technologies field for over 20 years with a passion for enhancing productive relationships between people and their surroundings. In 2000 Jeremiah established San Isidro Permaculture (www.sipermaculture.com.\), a design and installation company focused on permaculture design, water catchment, grey water systems, edible plant landscapes, erosion control & land restoration in the USA, Latin America, Africa and Asia.     All participants will be awarded an internationally recognized Permaculture Design

    Certificate issued by the Permaculture Research Institute of Kenya.

    Course Outline: Participants will go through the complete process of designing and implementing a permaculture plan. Learn the concepts of sustainable living and improved self-reliance and attain hands on experience of design and implementation. Participants will learn how to develop sustainable systems which can be applied to all aspects of life through the observation and replication of natural patterning. We will learn how to create regenerative systems that provide for our basic needs while enhancing the environment, using a variety of learning techniques and strategies. Permaculture is an integrated design strategy incorporating food forests and jungle gardens, natural building, alternative economics, aquaculture and mapping to create a sustainable human habitat. We present an innovative approach through modeling the structure of Permaculture directly in the environment.

    This is an intensive 14 day course presented through lectures, design approaches, guest presentations, group discussions, practical exercises, hands-on projects, projections, presentations, along with site visits and field trips. We believe that lasting ecological health and social harmony can be fostered through emphasizing the connection between people, food, shelter, energy, and water.

    The course fee includes tuition and a class handbook to take home, breakfast, tea & coffee breaks, lunch, transport for field trips, notebooks and presentation materials, access to permaculture books. As a bonus, all pariticpants will be invited to join on a sunset sailing cruise and offered 3 Day's FREE self-catering accommodation at Distant Relatives after the course to relax, go sightseeing or help around the site. This fee does not include accommodation, dinner, other drinks or transport to Distant Relatives. Fee also includes free access to all facilities (pool, beach, communal areas, communal kitchen, etc) as well as free entrance/ access to any other events that may take place during this period (eg. yoga sessions, live music events etc). Lead Instructor and Assistants will also meet with you and give you feedback about your personal site/ project to help guide your design. Please feel free to bring a plat or topographic map of your own site. Classes finish around 5pm daily to allow students time to relax, explore and enjoy the surrounding area and natural wonders such as the rare and unique phenomenon of bioluminescence! This course promises to be a great networking opportunity and a chance to make friends with like-minded people and professionals from different countries and backgrounds.
