Vampire Weekend are a very popular Indie band, who have a large fan base. Their album cover is ambiguous, as the audience does not know who the girl is. The colours are faded, the focus is unconventional, and the font colour and style is kept extremely simple.

This album cover is very random and obscure. The colours are contrasting (the bright stripes with the faded background), and the image is unrelated to the album title. The text is minimal and once again kept simple in font and colour.

This cover is possibly the most obscure, there is no connection between the image and the album title. This creates humour, and may attract the audience to the ambiguity of it. The colours are fairly bright, but the design is kept simple and straightforward, and the text is easily readable.

This is the most popular and successful album. It has the most simple design, and the most text. This is unconventional, but the challenging of conventions may have been what made it so successful.
