5. Sport The Inferno Pairs Series (Cardiff) - Sport Guide will provides key detail regarding the sport schedule and the sport programme. This document will be published no later than one week before the event. It should be read in conjunction with this section. 5.1 Sport Schedule The sport schedule will run between 09:00 – 18:30 on Saturday 12 August 2017 and between 08:00 – 17:00 on Sunday 13 August 2017. Elements of the sport schedule run concurrently to ensure that the time between workouts is kept to a minimum. 5.2 Sport Programme The Inferno Pairs Series events are targeted at athletes who have been undergoing a structured strength and conditioning programme for between 0 – 3 years. Consequently, some of the more advanced Olympic/powerlifting and gymnastic movements are absent from the sports programme as they would exclude this type of athlete. Nevertheless, the sports programme will provide a true test of all-round fitness for all athletes. 5.3 Workouts and Movement Standards Workouts and movement standards will be notified in advance on the Inferno Racing Facebook page. The Inferno Pairs Series (Cardiff) - Sport Guide will provide information about the movement standards expected. 5.4 Athlete Briefing There will be an athlete briefing at 08:30 on Saturday 12 August 2017. These briefings will cover workout execution and the required movement standards for the workouts. These briefings are compulsory for the teams in the first two heats (everyone else can pick up the information by watching these heats) but all are welcome. 5.5 Pre-Workout Process It is the athlete’s responsibility to report to Athlete Control five minutes before the start of their heat. At Athlete Control the Athlete Support Team will log the team onto that heat and release the teams onto the FoP at the appropriate time. Teams late arriving at Athlete Control will not be permitted to compete in that heat resulting in a nil score for that workout.
