TiN PVD coating is commonly applied to cutting tools that are used for machining Iron(Fe) alloys and steels.

One of the most unique properties of TiN is its low-chemical reactivity against iron and steel. This attribute helps reduce the overall tool wear that is commonly caused by adhesion between the tool and the metal being machined. In addition, TiN coating consists of high hardness, high toughness and low-thermal conductivity levels; making it ideal for high speed machining of iron and steels.

ZircoPlus® CoatingZircoPlus® is a PVD coating specifically intended for use on carbide cutting tools, HSS and other materials below 450°C/842°F. In addition, ZircoPlus® coating is ideal for machining Aluminum Alloys with high Silicon(Si) content.

Its chemical composition, ZrCN, averts light metals from welding together; which is excellent for non-ferrous applications. Futhermore, ZircoPlus® has both, higher hardness and wear resistance levels than the standard (ZrN) coatings.

Its chemical composition makes it high in hardness, a property necessary for cutting difficult-to-machine materials. Furthermore, Exxtral Plus® coating is corrosion resistant at increased temperatures of up to 1470º F; temperatures significantly higher than that of TiN.

WC/C® is a PVD coating that is often applied to tools, components and wear parts. In addition, its low friction and adhesion properties which are ideal for sliding/moving parts.

Its unique chemical composition, creates high lubricity which is excellent for dry or low-lubricant operations. Furthermore, our WC/C® coating can be used in high temperature conditions in the cutting tool industry.

Duplex Treatment / Plasma NitridingDuplex-Treatment is a combination of plasma nitriding and PVD coating deposition processes. The plasma nitriding augments the surface hardness of the steel, which allows for increased performance of the PVD coating.
