About This Book

GeneralThis book describes how to install and set up the Industrial IT 800xA System software using the System Installer, a semiautomated installation program. The person performing these procedures must have Windows ® administrator privileges.

Intended User This book is intended for software administrators with experience with process control systems and Microsoft® Windows operating systems. In general, Microsoft Windows functions are not described in this instruction.

Document ConventionsThe following conventions are used for the presentation of material:

• The words in names of screen elements (for example, the title in the title bar of a window, the label for a field of a dialog) are initially capitalized.

• Capital letters are used for the name of a keyboard key if it is labeled on the keyboard. For example, press the ENTER key.

• Lowercase letters are used for the name of a keyboard key that is not labeled on the keyboard. For example, the space bar, comma key, and so on.

• Press CTRL+C indicates that you must hold down the CTRL key while pressing the C key (to copy a selected object in this case).

Section 1 Introduction

Product OverviewA new system installation can be executed either semiautomatically using the System Installer as described in this instruction, or manually as described in Industrial IT, 800xA - System, Installation, and Industrial IT, 800xA - System, Post Installation.

The System Installer is more efficient since it performs many of the of the time-consuming and difficult tasks, making sure the software in installed in the correct order, the desired configurations are supported, etc.

The System Installer is a collection of tools to ease the planning, installation, and post installation of the 800xA System.

The System Installer makes it possible to:

• Specify system details: Plans the desired system configuration.

• Install and Configure the Windows Operating System.

• Verify Base system: Control if hardware and software requirements are fulfilled, and install missing software.

• Install the Industrial IT 800xA System software.

• Configure the Industrial IT 800xA System software. Perform a post installation of the installed 800xA System software.

• Generate System Report: Provides a comprehensive installation report.

The icons in the installation program change appearance depending on installation progress. Initially, they are gray. When you use a wizard or tool, its icon turns green. When completed, the icon turns blue.

System CheckerThe System Checker delivered with 800xA System Version 4.1 has more features than those described in this instruction. It is designed for the purpose of checking, verifying, documenting, and troubleshooting an 800xA System. It includes the following:

• Node Report tool.• System Checker tool.• System Information Collector tool.• System Report tool.

The System Checker supports 800xA System Versions 3.x and 4.x. It also supports System Baseline 2.x with some limitations. Those limitations, as well as the installation and use of the System Checker is described in Industrial IT, 800xA - System, System Checker.

Prerequisites and Requirements Refer to Third Party Hardware Products Verified for Industrial IT System 800xA for a list of hardware verified for use with the 800xA System. This document can be accessed from ABB Solutions Bank at:

Appendix A, Third Party Software details the third party software (including hot fixes and service packs) that has been evaluated for use with the 800xA System. The 800xA System has been found to be fully compatible and functional with this software as of the date of this document. Refer to ABB Solutions Bank for an up-to-date, comprehensive listing of all software that has been evaluated including service packs and hot fixes released following the 800xA System release. Principal Workflow

The workflow is divided into three major steps:

• Preparations: Section 3, Preparation provides information on the necessary system preparations, requirements, and considerations.

• System planning: Section 4, System Planning describes how to use a computer to specify the system configuration. Based on this information, setup packages are generated for each node in the planned system.

• System installation and configuration (post installation): Section 5, System Installation describes how to distribute the relevant setup package to a node, where it is used to control the installation and configuration of the necessary software. This step is repeated for each node in the system.

Setup Packages

Setup packages are distributed to each node in the system using removable media, such as floppy disks or a USB flash memory stick. A file server can also be used to load the 800xA System portion of the installation.

Generated setup packages can be stored on a network share on a file server instead of removable media; however, each setup package must be copied to a floppy disk or all setup packages must be copied to a USB flash memory stick. This is necessary for the Windows installation and configuration portion of the installation.

The setup packages must be on floppy disks to install Windows. If Windows is pre-installed, either floppy disks or a USB flash memory stick may be used during Windows configuration.

The basic steps in the workflow are outlined in Section 2, Work Flow.

Software Distribution

The setup package will also contain information on which media the software is distributed. You can use either:

• DVDs or CDs: DVD is the recommended media type, so that it is not necessary to handle a large number of CDs.

• Network share on a file server: Either set up a new file server or use an existing one. Refer to Appendix B, File Server Setup for more information.

It is recommended to set up a new file server, since it must have exactly the same folder names and folder structure as the distribution DVDs. Refer to File Server Structure on page 88 for more information.

Manual ProceduresNot all installations and procedures can be completed with the System Installer. Manual procedures that must be performed, if necessary, are:

• Visual BASIC 6.• Oracle.• Microsoft Office FrontPage.• User Account Privileges for Building Graphic Displays.• 800xA for Harmony or 800xA for Melody Installation.

Visual BASIC 6

All nodes that use the Graphics Builder, and the Primary Aspect Server node need a Professional or Enterprise Edition of Visual BASIC 6.0 with Service Pack 6.

Follow the installation procedure provided with Visual BASIC. It is recommended to use the typical installation alternative for Visual BASIC 6.0. It is also recommended to use the default values when installing the Service Pack via the System Checker.

Visual BASIC 6.0 must be purchased from ABB or from another vendor and manually installed. Visual BASIC Service Pack 6 will be installed by the System Checker as described under Verifying Base System (Installing Third Party Software) on page 73.

Oracle

Oracle 9 server software is required for the Information Management historical services.

Oracle 8 Client software is required if the IM Server (Version 4.1) will interact with History Services on a Unix-based Enterprise Historian 2.2/n server. This is because Enterprise Historian is based on Oracle 7, and Oracle 9 can not communicate directly with Oracle 7.

Refer to Industrial IT, 800xA - System, Installation for instructions on installing Oracle software.

Microsoft Office FrontPage

Microsoft Office FrontPage must be installed on every node to be used to develop Manufacturing Management IForms. The IForm Developer node is used for the engineering of Intelligent Forms (IForms) and other configuration functions.

This software is available from any Microsoft reseller. Follow the installation procedure described in the documentation provided by Microsoft.

For hot fixes related to Microsoft software that the 800xA System software has been found to be fully compatible and functional with at the time of system release, refer to Appendix A, Third Party Software.

User Account Privileges for Building Graphic Displays

Any user that will build Graphic Displays on a node in a domain must belong to the Power User local user group. This is not described in the Aspect Configuration Wizard. Instead, refer to Industrial IT, 800xA - System, Administration and Security for information on how to add users to this group.

If the IM Server (Version 4.1) will interact with History Services on a Unix-based Enterprise Historian 2.2/n server, then the Oracle 8 Client must be installed before Oracle 9. The Oracle 8 Client can not be installed after Oracle 9. Therefore, if there is any intention of using the Oracle 8 Client, install it before Oracle 9.

800xA for Harmony or 800xA for Melody Installation

A local service account must be created and used for the installation of SQL Server and 800xA for Harmony or 800xA for Melody. This account is required on all 800xA for Harmony or 800xA for Melody Connectivity Server nodes in the system.

For information on how to create the accounts, and for further prerequisite installation requirements, refer to Industrial IT, 800xA - System, Installation.

When installing 800xA for Harmony or 800xA for Melody using the local service account, there is a possible error when creating the system. If the User software Settings are set during installation, IndustrialITAdmin and IndustrialITUser are created as local groups and this sets the permissions on the folders. When creating a system logged onto the domain, certain import files will not load due to permission errors.

Security settings must be rerun after joining the domain, via Configuration Wizard > User Software Settings.

Preparation

1. Determine the size and scope of the system being set up, including the number of nodes and clients.

2. Plan the network and domain topology.

3. Obtain all installation media.

4. Decide whether or not to use computers with the Windows operating system already installed.

5. Acquire all the information needed for installation and setup with regard to network parameters, software keys, etc.

6. Confirm that all required hardware is in place and meets the system requirements.

System Planning

1. Move to the computer where the system planning will be done, and log on with Administrator privileges.

2. Install the System Installer.

3. Select the media type for the setup packages.

4. Specify the system configuration, including specifying:

a. Whether or not to use computers with the Windows operating system already installed (refer to Pre-Installed Computers on page 37).

b. Number of ordinary clients, and the number of engineering clients in the system.

c. Number of remote (thin) clients in the system.

d. Desired Connectivity Servers.

e. AC 800M options.

f. 800xA for Advant Master options.

g. 800xA for DCI options.

h. PLC Connectivity options.

System Installation

1. Move to a node in the system. Make sure to set up the nodes in the recommended order (refer to Node Order on page 66).

2. If the Windows operating system is not already installed, make a silent Windows installation using the relevant setup package. For this step, setup packages must be on floppy disks.

3. From now on, setup packages can be either on floppy disks or a USB flash memory stick.

4. Log on with Administrator privileges.

5. Install the System Installer software.

6. Configure Windows, including:

a. Configuring network setup.

b. Configuring Windows components.

c. Joining a Workgroup or domain.

d. Configuring user groups, users, and the service account.

7. From now on, setup packages residing on a file server can be used instead of removable media.

8. Verify that the node fulfills the necessary hardware and software requirements.

9. Install missing third party software.

10. Install the 800xA System software.

11. Make a post installation of the installed software. This step is supported from the System Installer by its Aspect Configuration Wizard.

12. Generate a system report.

13. Repeat Step 1 to Step 12 for each other node in the system.

IntroductionBefore starting the system installation, determine and prepare the following:

1. Determine the size and scope of the system being set up, including the number of nodes and clients. This is based on what node types you want to have in the system and how many, and also how many standalone clients and remote clients you want to have. For more information, see also:

– System Overview on page 26.– Configuration Rules on page 29.– Appendix C, System Configurations.– Industrial IT 800xA System - System Guide.

2. Plan the network and domain topology. The network is an integrated part of the 800xA System. The network components depend on fast and reliable communication. For more information, see also:

– Domains Versus Workgroups on page 31.– Network Setup on page 34.– Industrial IT 800xA System - Automation System Network - Design and

Configuration.

3. Make any other necessary preparations. This involves acquiring all the information needed for installation and setup with regard to network parameters, software keys, etc. All installation media must be obtained, and it must be confirmed that all required hardware is in place and meets the system requirements. For more information, refer to Installation Preparations on page 36.

After installation, load the license file purchased from ABB.

System OverviewThe 800xA System is a distributed set of server and client nodes that reside on a network.

Server classes are deployed on nodes - a node is an addressable machine (a PC) in a network. For very small installations, one single node can carry all server categories as well as the client parts of the products.

For medium sized systems, certain server functions may be combined on a single node, for example, combined Aspect and Connectivity Server. As installations grow larger, one or several Application Servers may be added to run server parts of the products. Aspect and Connectivity Servers may be redundant.

Node Types

Node types can be broken down into the following categories:

• Basic Node Types.• Combined Node Types.

The maximum number of nodes of each type per 800xA System are listed in Generic Configuration Rules on page 29.

Basic Node Types

Basic node types include:

• Domain Server node (not required for single-node systems, or those using workgroups): Runs the Domain Controller and Domain Name System (DNS). Contains matching copies of the user accounts in a given domain.

• Aspect Server node: Runs the aspect directory and other services related to object management, object names and structures, security, etc. Redundant Aspect Servers may be implemented on an optional basis. This is also the Domain Controller and DNS when separate Domain Servers are not used.

• Connectivity Server node: Runs connect services, providing access to controllers and other data sources. Redundant (parallel) Connectivity Servers may be implemented on an optional basis.

• Application Server node: Application servers run the services related to a specific functional area, for example: Batch Management, Information Management, or Asset Optimization. Application Servers require Windows Server 2003 or Windows 2000 Server. Application Servers include:

– Batch Server: runs Batch Management.– MM Server: runs Manufacturing Management (Windows Server 2003

only).– IM Server: runs Information Management.– AO Server: runs Asset Optimization.– Other applications: such as large SoftPoint and Calculation Server

applications, 800xA for Harmony Configuration Server, 800xA for Melody Configuration Server, integrated third party applications, etc.

• Remote Client Server node: Provides terminal server functionality to connect to remote workplaces.

• Client node: Runs workplace functionality, such as operator and engineering workplaces, including Batch, MM, IM, and AO Clients.

• Information Management Consolidation node: The Information Management Consolidation node allows for consolidating historical data from IM Servers in other systems on one node.

Combined Node Types

• In order to optimize the cost/performance ratio for a particular installation, certain server functions can be combined in the same node. Depending on what functions are combined, there are different limitations to system sizes. Approved combinations are:

– AS + CS: Aspect and Connectivity Server.– AS + CS + AO: Aspect, Connectivity, and AO Server.– Batch + IM + MM: Batch, IM, and MM Server. – Single node engineering system.

Other elements of the 800xA System include:

• Controllers: Run applications for real-time process control. Controllers connect to the control network.

• I/O Systems: Provide the interface to process transducers. I/O stations connect to controllers, either directly, or via fieldbuses.

• Network and Network Devices: Support communication between the various system nodes, as well as communication outside the system (via plant intranet, or the Internet). The 800xA System uses three networks:

– Control network.– Client/server network.– Plant network (intranet).

All node types except the Domain Server node include client functionality. These clients are referred to as server based clients.

• Any of the following connect services (and no other) can be combined in Connectivity Server nodes, combined Aspect and Connectivity Server nodes, and combined Aspect, Connectivity, and AO Server nodes:

– AC 800M Connect.– FOUNDATION Fieldbus Device Integration.– PROFIBUS Device Integration.– HART Device Integration.– PLC Connect.– PC, Network and Software Monitoring (PNSM).

• 800xA for Advant Master connect services must run in Connectivity Server nodes. It can be combined with 800xA for SafeGuard in the same node, but not with any other connect services.

• 800xA for Harmony Server, 800xA for Melody Server, 800xA for MOD 300 Server, and 800xA for DCI Server must run in Connectivity Server nodes. They can not be combined with each other or with any other connect services in the same node.

Domains Versus Workgroups

An 800xA System installation can be configured either as a Windows Domain or as a Windows Workgroup. It is possible to:

• Use a workgroup with up to nine nodes.• Use an existing domain.• Set up a new domain as part of the system installation.

When the system is configured as a domain, a separate (optionally redundant) Domain Server is required. For installation as a production system, it is recommended that the 800xA System form its own domain. It should not be part of a larger domain, such as a corporate network domain.

The Domain Controller stores and manages information about user credentials and access rights, both for humans and for the system. It provides the Active Directory service that manages user access to a network, which includes user logon, authentication, and access to the directory and shared resources. Every domain must have at least one Domain Controller. For resilience, a domain should have multiple Domain Controllers to support the handling of logon requests and directory updates.

All other 800xA System server and client nodes must be configured to be members of the domain. The 800xA System requires the use of static IP addresses on all system nodes.

For details on planning and physical set up for networks and domains, refer to Industrial IT, 800xA - System, Automation System Network, Design and Configuration.

A Workgroup System should not consist of more than a combined Aspect and Connectivity Server, separate Application Servers, and five or six clients. A Workgroup becomes increasingly difficult to administrate as the number of users and computers grows. Workgroups should therefore be considered only for small systems with few users. Refer to Industrial IT, 800xA - System, Installation for more information on Windows Workgroups.

Windows XP Professional Versus Windows Server (2000 or 2003)

Certain server types can run on Windows XP Professional as well as on Windows 2000 Server or Windows Server 2003.

• When Windows XP Professional is used for the Aspect Servers, the system size is limited to nine nodes, not counting Domain Servers.

• When Windows XP Professional is used for any other server, except for the Aspect Servers, the system size is limited to 11 nodes, not counting Domain Servers.

These limitations depend on Microsoft licensing rules for Windows XP and Internet Information Services (IIS).

Server types that always require Windows 2000 Server or Windows Server 2003 are:

• Domain Server.• Batch Server.• IM Server (except in single node engineering systems).• AO Server (in all configurations except in single node systems).• 800xA for Harmony Server.• 800xA for Harmony Configuration Server.

All servers in a redundant group (1-out-of-2 or 2-out-of-3) must use the same operating system.

• 800xA for Melody Server.• 800xA for Melody Configuration Server.

Optimized System Configurations

By using combined node types, it is possible to optimize the system configuration for small and medium sized applications.

• A single node system is a system that consists of one combined Aspect and Connectivity Server node, or one combined Aspect, Connectivity, and AO Server node.

• Systems with up to five clients and limited application size can be configured with combined Aspect and Connectivity Server nodes; combined Aspect, Connectivity, and AO Server nodes; combined Batch, IM, and MM Server nodes; and with server based clients.

• For larger applications, the Batch and IM Servers should run on separate servers, and the clients should also be separate.

Engineering Systems

An Engineering System is intended for engineering only (no production). The same basic configuration rules apply to an Engineering System as to Production Systems, except for the single node Engineering System.

With respect to domain membership, there are two use cases for the engineering system:

• The engineering system is used standalone; for example, in an engineering office. There are three possible alternatives:

– The system can be added to an existing domain; for example, in an office network domain.

– The system can be defined as a new domain added to an existing domain controller.

– The system can be defined as a separate domain with its own domain controller and DNS server, or as a workgroup (i.e. same as a Production System).

• The Engineering System is connected to a Production System and is used for system synchronization. In this configuration, the Engineering System must belong to the same domain as the Production System.

Network Setup

Network configuration includes:

• Client/Server network.

• AC 800M control network.

• Redundant Network Routing Protocol (RNRP). This requires the relationship between IP addresses to be fixed.

During system planning, the default network configuration will be suggested. If changes are required, refer to Industrial IT, 800xA - System, Automation System Network - Design and Configuration for information on network considerations.

The client/server network can be separate from or combined with any control network. Figure 3, Figure 4, and Figure 5 show examples of different network configurations.

Installation PreparationsThis section provides guidelines for acquiring the information needed for installation with regard to network parameters, software keys, etc. Gather the required installation media needed to complete the installation, and confirm that all required hardware is in place and meets the system requirements.

Removable Media

Prior to starting the system installation, determine the total number of nodes (PCs) in the system (refer to Introduction on page 25).

A number of removable media devices, such as USB flash memory sticks or floppy disks, are needed. If using computers where Windows is not installed, then floppy disks are required. Otherwise, either floppy disks or USB flash memory sticks can be used.

If floppy disks are required, then the number of disks needed equals the number of nodes in the system. If using USB flash memory sticks, then one stick is sufficient. For example, if the total number of nodes is 20, either one USB flash memory stick or 20 floppy disks are required during system planning.

An organization should be in place to manage any domain with assigned responsibilities and methods handling users and security. Additionally, insure that:

• Systems are clean from unwanted third party programs.

• Systems are recently checked for viruses and trojans.

Pre-Installed Computers

Pre-installed computers are computers where:

• Correct operating system versions are installed. The System Installer will check for correct service packs and hotfixes, and advise that installation of any of those that are missing is required.

• Only evaluated software is installed. Appendix A, Third Party Software details the third party software that has been evaluated for use with the 800xA System.

• The hardware fulfills the requirements in Third Party Hardware Products Verified for Industrial IT System 800xA. This document can be accessed from ABB Solutions Bank at:

Systems can be installed on either preconfigured computers from Dell or HP or on other computers. The preconfigured computers will have the operating system, required Windows applications, and third party software properly installed and will require no special attention.

Existing computers may not have the correct software installed. On these computers, it is recommended that the computer be flatlined and then letting the System Installer install Windows. The relevant Windows installation media will be required during the installation, and also any required drivers, such as video and network drivers.

The System Installer can only be used for installation on clean systems. If the program is to be used when upgrading, first all ABB software and one Windows components, Windows Internet Information Server (IIS), must be uninstalled.

Section 4 System Planning

IntroductionWhen the necessary preparations have been made, system planning can begin.

System planning works as follows:

• Install the System Installer on a computer. All system planning will be made on this computer.

• Start the System Installer.

• Specify the system configuration.

• Generate a setup package for each node in the system.

• Setup packages are stored on removable media, such as floppy disks or a USB flash memory stick.

System PlanningTo plan the system, and generate setup packages:

1. Move to a designated computer from which to perform the system planning and install the System Installer as described in Installing the System Installer on page 42.

2. Select the media type as described in Media Type on page 44.

Installing the System Installer

1. Move to a designated computer from which to perform the system planning, and log on with Administrator privileges.

2. Insert the 800xA SysInstall CD.

On Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP Professional SP2 computers, Windows security causes the warnings shown in Figure 6 in to appear, when clicking on any of the configuration steps, while installing System Installer from a CD on a Windows Server 2003 node.

This configuration to prevent these messages is performed after the System Installer has installed the 800xA System and is configuring the node. Click Yes to continue when this warnings appears.

3. Figure 7 shows the opening screen.

4. Select to Install the System Installation Shell. Make sure to also select System Installation Shell in the displayed Installation Wizard.

5. When the installation of System Installer is complete it may or may not request that the computer be rebooted. After the reboot, the System Installer should start automatically. If the computer is not rebooted, or if the program does not start automatically after rebooting, start the program from:

Start > All Programs > ABB Industrial IT 800xA > System > System Installation Shell > Setup a new System

6. Continue with Media Type.

Media Type

The following options are available for selecting the media type as shown in Figure 8:

If using the Start menu, a prompt will appear asking to create a new setup package. Make sure to deselect the I have created a setup package already, I want to run it to setup this computer check box and continue.

Besides the Setup a new system option, there are shortcuts to Continue system installation and System utilities.

If an ongoing installation is cancelled, it can be continued from where it left off by selecting Continue system installation.

Do not start an activity from the tools supplied as submenu items in the System utilities folder.

• Use the Installation CDs or DVDs: Select I want to use CD/DVD to install my system to use the installation CDs or DVDs.

• Set Up a New File Server: Select I want to set up this server to distribute the installation software to set up a new file server.

• Use an Existing File Server: Select I want to use an existing server to distribute the installation software to use an existing server; that is, a file server has already been set up.

Use the Installation CDs or DVDs

1. Select I want to use CD/DVD to install my system.

2. Click CD if using CDs or DVD if using DVDs (DVD is the preferred installation media).

3. Continue with System Details on page 46.

Set Up a New File Server

1. Select I want to set up this server to distribute the installation software.

2. Click CD if using CDs or DVD if using DVDs (DVD is the preferred installation media).

3. A Browse for Folder dialog appears asking for a folder location. Browse to a folder on the local hard disk. Do not use a folder on a mounted disk, since it will be regarded as an existing file server. The selected folder must also be public; that is, no specific user privileges or passwords can be required for access.

4. The System Installer will copy the complete software distribution to the specified folder, and create the correct folder structure.

5. Continue with System Details on page 46.

The appearance of the next dialog to appears depends on the selection in this dialog.

Use an Existing File Server

1. Select I want to use an existing server to distribute the installation software.

2. Click Server as media type.

3. A Browse for Folder dialog appears asking for the file server location. If it is not possible to browse to the file server share, then enter a Universal Naming Convention (UNC) path manually. Do not use a previously mapped network drive.

A UNC path has the following syntax:

\\<node name>\<server share>

For example:

\\PC123\File Server

4. The System Installer will check that the complete software distribution exists in the specified folder, otherwise a warning will appear.

5. Continue with System Details on page 46.

System Details

Use the System Planner to specify the desired system configuration. The wizard consists of a series of dialogs in which relevant information is specified. It then generates setup packages for each node in the planned system.

When using an existing file server, it must have exactly the same folder names and folder structure as the distribution DVDs (refer to File Server Structure on page 88. The network share where the file server resides must be public; that is, no specific user privileges or passwords can be required for access.

If setting up a system with a single engineering node, not all dialogs described here will be shown. Some will be merged with fewer options.

Set the Option for Using Pre-Installed Computers

Use the Use computers with Windows pre-installed check box in the Set the Option for Using Pre-installed Computers dialog to select whether or not computers with the Windows Operating System already installed will be used.

The installation sequence will differ depending on whether or not Windows is pre-installed in the computers.

Select the Number of Workplaces (Clients)

Use the Select the Number of Workplaces dialog (Figure 9) to specify the number of Operator Workplaces, and also the number of Engineering Workplaces in the system.

For more information on pre-installed computers, refer to Pre-Installed Computers on page 37.

If the selection is not to use pre-installed computers, bootable Windows installation media must be available, and any required drivers, such as video and network drivers.

• Include Server-Based Workplaces. When a Workplace is combined with a Server in a node, then that Workplace is referred to as a Server-Based Workplace.

• Exclude remote (thin) clients. Those will be selected in the next dialog.

The system can also be set up with a Single Engineering node. It will include an Engineering Workplace.

Select Remote Client Server Options

Use the Select Remote Client Server Options dialog to specify the number of remote (thin) clients in the system. Each remote client requires one Windows 2003 Terminal Server.

Select the Number of Connectivity Servers

Use the Select the Number of Connectivity Servers dialog (Figure 10) to specify the desired Connectivity Servers.

The number of Workplaces depends on how many Server nodes will be set up in the system, how many of those that will be combined with clients (Server-Based Workplaces), and how many standalone Workplaces are desired (refer to Section 3, Preparation for more information).

• If the system is being set up with a Single Engineering node, then it is only necessary to select which types of Connectivity Servers to have in that node.

• Each type of Connectivity Server is used to connect to a certain type of controller. The exception is the PLC Connect Connectivity Server. It can be used to connect to a wide range of controllers.

• Select how many of each type of Connectivity Server the system will have and whether the selected Connectivity Servers are to be redundant.

Some Connectivity Server types can be combined in a node. This will be specified later.

Specifying Connectivity Server Options

For each of the following Connectivity Servers selected, a dialog with possible options will appear.

• AC 800M. Select the purchased options.

• 800xA for Advant Master. Select the purchased options.• 800xA for Safeguard. Select the purchased options.• 800xA for DCI. Select a unique node number.• PLC Connect. Select the purchased options.

Depending on how many Connectivity Servers are selected of a certain type, more or fewer of the other types can be selected. Not all types can be mixed.

For information on supported combinations, refer to Configuration Rules on page 29.

If 800xA for Safeguard will be installed, then Advant Master Connectivity Servers must be selected, as 800xA for Safeguard is dependant on 800xA for Advant Master.

If Use Base Software for Soft Control is selected in the Set AC 800M Options dialog, an extra Connectivity Server will be generated, because this option should not be part of any other nodes.

Available are:

number of desired FOUNDATION Fieldbus OPC servers. If desired, these can be combined with the AC 800M Connectivity Server later.

Set PC, Network and Software Monitoring Options

Use the Set PC, Network and Software Monitoring Options dialog to (Figure 12) select whether or not the PC, Network and Software Monitoring Server will run on an existing Connectivity Server or if it requires its own server. Any Aspect Server can be combined with a Workplace in the same node (referred to as a Server-Based Client.) Use the Set Aspect Server Options dialog to select to combine them.

Set AC 800M Connect Combinations

Use the Set AC 800M Connect Combinations dialog to select will be combined with the AC 800M Connectivity Server in the same node. Possible combinations include:

• Combine with Aspect Server.

• Workplace (Operator/Engineering) in this node: A Workplace will be combined with the AC 800M Connectivity Server in the same node (referred to as a Server-Based Client).

• Combine with Asset Optimization Server.

• Combine with a PLC Connect.

Select the System Network Options

Available options are:

• Set up a new domain: If selected, select also whether or not to use a redundant domain controller.

• Use an existing domain.

• Use a workgroup.

This option may not be available depending on previous selections, especially the number of workplaces.

Some options may not be available depending on previous selections; for example, the number of clients.

When deciding on a domain or workgroup, consider the restrictions (refer to Domains Versus Workgroups on page 31 for more information). If selecting an existing domain, it will be necessary to have administrator privileges on the domain in order to join.

The users and user groups will be added to Windows later on during configuration.

Name the System Nodes

Use the Name the System Nodes dialog to enter the node names (computer names) in the system.

Besides node names, it is also possible to enter advanced network settings; that is, change the default network and IP address settings. If the default settings are accepted, continue with Summary of System Configuration Parameters on page 63.

User information can be copied from the dialog to Excel, edited, and then pasted back into the dialog. To paste the information back to the dialog:

1. Hold down the SHIFT key while clicking in the left edge of each row to select it.

2. Press CTRL+V. When prompted, select whether to add or replace users. Add means to append the new user information to the table, while replace means to update the table with the new information.

To make the system secure, it is recommended to require users to change their passwords at first logon.

If using existing computers where node names and IP addresses are already set, make sure to enter their correct names. Further, the installation procedure depends on each setup package having the same name as the actual node name.

Change the advanced settings only if it is necessary to change the defaults and all implications are known. The default setting is a nonredundant combined client/server network and AC 800M control network.

Define Computer IP Addresses

Use the Define Computer IP Addresses dialog (Figure 21) to change the default IP address settings for the nodes in the system.

1. Enter the base IP address. All IP addresses will be automatically updated to have the same two leading (left most) fields as the base IP address. The two leading fields of redundant network adapter IP addresses will also be calculated based on the entered base IP address.

2. For each node type, it is possible to change:

a. Client/Server network area number. The third field in the IP addresses for the node type is calculated based on this number.

b. Node number. The fourth field in the IP addresses for the node type is based on this number.

c. Control network area number (if present).

Before changing the default settings, refer to Industrial IT, 800xA - System, Automation System Network - Design and Configuration for details on planning and physical setup for networks and domains.

Make sure to use the drop-down list boxes to change any settings. Do not manually change individual IP addresses in the table.

Summary of System Configuration Parameters

Use the Summary of System Configuration Parameters dialog to view a list of the network settings to be set up for the nodes in the system. If not satisfied, go back and change the selections.

After clicking Next, the subsequent set of dialogs is used to create Setup Packages.

Setup Package Generation

After specifying the system configuration, the next part is to create setup packages based on the entered information. For each node, a specific setup package will be generated. These packages will later be used to set up the nodes in the system as specified.

Use the Setup Package Generation dialog to select which media type will be used for distributing the setup packages. Available options are:

• Removable media: Floppy disks or a USB flash memory stick. One floppy disk is needed for each setup package. Upon continuing, a prompt will ask for the media location.

• Other (browse): The setup packages will be saved on a server share. Upon continuing, a prompt will ask for a folder location on the server share. If previously selected to distribute the system software via a file server, then save the setup packages on the suggested file server location.

• Single node: No media is necessary when the system consists of a single node. The setup package will be saved locally on the node.

Media considerations:

• If using a server share, each setup package (the files in a node folder) will need to be copied to a floppy disk or all folders to a USB flash memory stick. This is necessary for the Windows installation and configuration part.

• To install Windows in the computers, the setup packages have to be on floppy disks. If Windows is pre-installed in the computers, use either floppy disks or a USB flash memory stick during Windows configuration.

After the media type is selected, the setup packages will be generated.

View Fact Sheets

To help setup the system, a fact sheet will be created for each node. Use this dialog to access and print them.

The fact sheets are saved locally on the node used for system planning. It is recommended to back them up to a safe location, such as a server share.

If the creation of a floppy disk fails, the information can be copied to another floppy disk by going to the:

%TEMP%\IIT800xA Setup Package

folder. The information file for the failed floppy disk can be retrieved and copied to a new floppy disk.

Section 5 System Installation

IntroductionAfter the system is planned setup packages have been created for each node in the system, it is possible to start to install the system. The setup packages now should be on removable media, such as floppy disks or a USB flash memory stick.

System installation works as follows:

• Move to a node in the system and use the removable media with the setup package for the node to install and configure the software properly

• Repeat this for each node in the system, each time using the relevant setup package.

If the system will be set up to be part of an existing domain, administrator privileges on the domain are required to join it.

The installation depends on the fact that the setup package has the same name as the actual node name (computer name). Make sure to have the floppy disk or USB flash memory stick inserted during the entire system installation process

When installing from a file server and when the setup packages reside on the same server share as the software distribution, it is only necessary to have the floppy disk or USB flash memory stick inserted during the Windows installation and configuration part.

If 800xA for Harmony or 800xA for Melody will be installed, consider the issues described in 800xA for Harmony or 800xA for Melody Installation on page 18.

The System Installer can only be used for installation on clean systems. If the program is to be used when upgrading, all ABB software and one Windows component, Windows Internet Information Server, must be uninstalled first.

Installing Windows

To install Windows:

1. If the computer is not already set to boot from CD/DVD, enter the computer setup and change the BIOS so that the computer will boot from the CD/DVD drive.

2. To avoid any conflicts with system reboots also change the boot order in the BIOS so that Floppy disk/USB drive is placed after Hard disk.

3. Insert the Windows media, and also the floppy disk with the relevant setup package.

4. Restart the computer. Windows installation will automatically start and it will be controlled by the setup package.

5. During the installation, the computer will reboot.

6. When the installation is finished, manually install any required Windows drivers.

– Open the device manager (on Windows XP: Start > Control panel > System > Hardware > Device manager).

– Missing drivers are indicated with yellow question marks or red Xs.

7. Reboot the computer so that the newly installed drivers are recognized and properly applied by Windows. Remember to remove and insert the floppy disk.

8. Install the System Installer as described in Installing the System Installer.

Bootable Windows installation media is required, and any required drivers, such as video and network drivers.

During reboot, remove the floppy disk. Once the reboot process has started, insert the floppy disk again.

To make any change to drivers the password for the Administrator account is required. Windows sets the password to admin. This password can be changed at a later time

Installing the System Installer

1. Log on to the computer with Administrator privileges.

2. The System Installer does not create any special installation account. Instead, create a new user account with Administrator privileges manually (User settings in Control Panel). If the node is to be part of a workgroup, create the account on the node. If the node is to be part of a domain, create the account on the domain.

From now on, use the domain Administrator account for all 800xA installation and configuration procedures.

3. Log on to the 800xA installation account. (If the node is to be part of a domain, then wait until after the last reboot of the Windows configuration).

4. Insert the removable media with the relevant setup package.

5. Insert the CD 800xA SysInstall.

In the Welcome screen, select to install the System Installation Shell. Make sure to also select System Installation Shell in the displayed installation wizard. There are some options on the Welcome dialog. The are:

• Generate log file: To specify that a log file be generated for this installation (recommended), select the check box.

• Copy To Server: Allows the program to be run from a file server. Refer to Appendix B, File Server Setup.

• Browse: Allows browsing the contents of the installation media.

• Exit: Closes the setup program.

• Home: Returns to the original installation screen.

If the node is to be part of the domain, use an Administrator account created on the node until the System Installer is installed. Use the domain Administrator account for 800xA System installation and configuration.

6. When the installation of System Installer is complete it may or may not request that the computer be rebooted. After the reboot, the System Installer should start automatically. If the computer is not rebooted, or if the program does not start automatically after rebooting, start the program from:

Start > All Programs > ABB Industrial IT 800xA > System > System Installation Shell > Setup a new System

7. Next, the Windows configuration will start. Use it to configure Windows as described in Configuring Windows.

Configuring Windows

Windows is configured in a series of dialogs where relevant settings are configured first, and then the changes are executed. This is repeated a number of times with reboots in between.

Selecting Netset File

Use this dialog to select the netset.inf file in the setup package.

• If the file is found automatically, its location is shown and it is possible to continue.

• Otherwise, a prompt appears asking for the file location. Browse to the inserted floppy disk or USB flash memory stick.

If using the Start menu, a prompt will appear asking to create a new setup package. Make sure to select the I have created a setup package already, I want to run it to setup this computer check box and continue.

During reboot, remove any floppy disk used. Once the reboot process has started, insert the floppy disk again. If you use a USB flash memory stick, let it remain inserted during reboot.

The System Installer cannot handle network cards with already assigned IP addresses. Instead, network cards will be configured in the same order as listed in the hardware list. Mostly, this is not a problem when they are not previously configured. However, if the network cards are previously configured, then they will be reconfigured in the same order as they are listed. As a result, network connections can be lost. To restore the connections, switch the cords or manually reconfigure the network cards. (Network settings in Control Panel).

Requirements will either pass or fail the check. Each requirement in a dialog has to pass the check before it is possible to continue with the next dialog. The check can also result in a warning . It is still possible to continue, but node performance or software functionality may be affected.

For missing software, either install it directly or view information on how to fulfill the requirement.

• If using a floppy disk, both the floppy disk and any CD/DVD must be removed from the computer during a reboot. After the reboot is complete, insert the floppy disk first and then the CD/DVD.

• If using a USB flash memory stick, the memory stick and any CD/DVD do not need to be removed from the computer during reboot.

Finishing System Checker

When the wizard is complete and the requested software is installed, the node fulfills the necessary requirements.

Use the last dialog to view a report of the hardware and software installed in the node. If desired, save it for later reference.

Upon continuing, the installation of the 800xA software will start as described in Installing Industrial IT 800xA.

Visual BASIC 6.0 must be purchased from ABB or from another vendor and manually installed (refer to Visual BASIC 6 on page 16. Visual BASIC Service Pack 6 will be installed by the System Checker.

If prompted to reboot the computer, make sure to answer yes and reboot the computer at that time before proceeding with the wizard.

1. When the installation is started, the products will be installed in sequence. Once properly installed, green check marks appear over the products in the list.

When the 800xA System software has been installed in a node, the next part is the post installation set up of the software.

The Aspect Configuration Wizard progresses through the necessary steps. Only tasks relevant to what was specified during system planning are shown.

Using Aspect Configuration Wizard

Each window in the Aspect Configuration Wizard describes how to complete a certain task.

Follow the instructions and perform the task. The links in the window can be used to open relevant aspects. Make sure to perform the tasks in the described order; that is, complete the task in one window before continuing with the next.

If the installation fails and the installation is restarted, the last installed product will have a green check mark even though not properly installed. Make sure to select to re-install this product.

On Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP Professional SP2 computers, the following warning may appear when clicking on a link in the Aspect Configuration page:

1. Use the displayed System Report Wizard to generate a report for the node. If a selection is made to view the generated system report, it will be displayed when finished with the wizard.

Introduction

This appendix details the third party software that has been evaluated for use with the 800xA System. The 800xA System has been found to be fully compatible and functional with this software as of the date of this document. Refer to ABB Solutions Bank for an up to date, comprehensive listing of all software that has been evaluated including service patches and hot fixes released following the 800xA System release. The complete list of software can be found at:

Table 3 lists the Microsoft Windows operating system software. Table 4 lists the other Microsoft software programs that have been determined as needed to properly run and interface with 800xA System software. The tables also detail the service packs and hot fixes that the 800xA System software has been found to be compatible with.

Table 5 lists other third party programs that may be needed with the various 800xA System software packages.

Some of the software is included with the 800xA installation DVDs. In all cases, the affect of any software should be determined for each installation particularly where there may be interfaces external to the 800xA System.

Some third party software may offer a web browser popup blocker. Do not use them with the thin client portions of the integrated applications (specifically Asset Optimization), since these applications open child window browsers to display application data for the user. If a popup blocker is being used on a web browser, disable it during use of these web based applications.

Appendix B File Server Setup

IntroductionYou can either set up a new file server or use an existing one. It is recommended to set up a new file server, since it must have exactly the same folder names and folder structure as the distribution DVDs, see also File Server Structure on page 88.

If you want to install from a file server, there are three alternatives.

Set up a new file server on the node used for system planning:

1. During system planning, select to set up a new file server. Use a folder on the local hard disk. Do not use a folder on a mounted disk, since it will be regarded as an existing file server. The selected folder must also be public, that is, no specific user privileges or passwords can be required for access.

2. The System Installer will copy the complete software distribution to the specified folder, and create the correct folder structure.

3. During system installation, the server share will be used as the source of 800xA System software.

Set up a file server manually on a remote server share:

1. Create a remote server share manually on a computer other than the one used for system planning. This server share must be public, that is, no specific user privileges or passwords can be required for access.

2. Copy all files manually from the installation CDs or DVDs to the server share. Make sure to create the correct folder structure.

3. During system planning, select to use the existing server on the remote server share. If you cannot browse to the file server share, then enter an UNC path manually. Do not use a previously mapped network drive.

4. During system installation, the server share will be used as the source of 800xA System software.

Set up a new file server on a remote server share:

1. Create a remote server share manually on a computer other than the one used for system planning. This server share must be public, that is, no specific user privileges or passwords can be required for access.

2. During system planning, select to set up a new file server on the remote server share. If you cannot browse to the remote server share, then enter an UNC path manually. Do not use a previously mapped network drive.

An UNC path has the following syntax: \\<node name>\<server share>. For example: \\PC123\File Server.

3. The System Installer will copy the complete software distribution to the specified folder, and create the correct folder structure.

4. During system installation, the server share will be used as the source of 800xA System software.

File Server StructureIf you set up a file server manually, the media contents have to be organized as shown in Table 6. <Parent Folder> is the name of the parent folder under which all other folders are organized.

It is highly recommended that you let the System Installer set up the file server for you. Then you do not have to worry about correct folder structure or folder names.
