wrex, a compact, remotely - controlled wrecking - robot for indoor operation.

BRIEFING

nimble - fitting through doors - not too heavy (max. 300kg/m²) - stable - transportable - compact

first we had to find the right

disposal of the arms.

the solution was stacked on top of each other because there s more place for the hydraulic cylinders and a more

favourable separation of appearing forces.

our aim was to create something like an icon. so i started with some quick thumbnail sketches to find a very striking basic shape and to define the character of wrex.

4TH TERM GROUP (2) PROJECT

the whole monocoque of the jr12 consists of carbon fibre. our main purpose was to transfer the char-acteristic features of a weasle (the weasles: team-name) into the shape of the racing car. we had

to keep the nose very low, so that the driver

has a perfect visibility. In the last stage we

positioned the sponsor-logos.

humans are living on the jupiter s moon io because of a depletion of natural resources on earth. every year a special car racing

through the volcanic landscapes of io takes place.

Those racer have the assignment to do a combination of long distance - jumps and driving periods. There are two modes of racing: 01 “do the fastest lap competition” & 02 “go the longest distance competition”.
