The Premium HMI 3 software platform is a powerful programming environment for the creation and development of graphical user interfaces and includes ‘Premium HMI Studio 2011' development tool and different Win CE and Win 32 runtime versions. Premium HMI 3 is also a platform with open architecture that allows integration of third-party software components. Transversality is the strong point of the

platform, as it allows the use of the same project with Win CE and Win 32 runtime, without any modification or setting in the development tools. For the Win CE operating system, two runtime versions, Basic and Advanced, are provided, while for Win 32 operating systems there are three versions: BASIC, ADVANCED and PRO. BASIC versions include all the features necessary for the development of an HMI project with a limited number of variables, compared to the other versions. The PRO versions are suitable for the development of more complex projects, where historicization of production data and alarms on local or remote databases is required. The ADVANCED versions add a Web server function that makes the HMI project remotely accessible and allows to send SMS or e-mails in case of alarm.
The domain of hardware technology, communication and software platforms has enabled ASEM to develop and propose high-end, but easy to use, HMI solutions, with features and performance to satisfy all the demands of the new HMI era.

Fieldbus: NETcore® X

The NETcore® X communication cards are the link between the PC and the I/O devices on the machine and allow control and visualization applications to obtain the information from the field according to many protocols available.
Instructions for use
NETcore® X and proprietary application Provides a DLL library for developing applications on Win32 (XP, Vista, Seven), or Windows CE systems. Allows all the languages compatible with DLL development, such as C, C++ or .NET. NETcore® X with CoDeSys Using the PROFIBUS, CANOPEN, PROFINET and ETHERNET IP protocols, the integration with CoDeSys is automatic and does not require the writing of any code to implement the communication stack. NETcore® X with Premium HMI 3 Premium HMI uses NETcore® X cards with SIEMENS MPI and PROFIBUS Slave protocols, using a dedicated communication driver.

WS650 is a fanless panel PC, with a front plastic frame, provided with different mechanical solutions, and based on the new ASEM 1021 motherboard, that also supports Intel® Celeron Dual Core, Pentium Dual Core and Core® 2 Duo processors with 45 nanometer technology. Available with 12.1”, 15” and 17” LCD display, also touchscreen, the WS650 systems ensure high computing power and graphics capabilities. A thin polyester film is dued on the touch-

The remoting system developed by ASEM is based on the serialization of video and USB signals. The signals are made more robust and transmitted differentially through an Ethernet cable. The remoting kit consists of a local transmission module, located near the PC, and a remote receiver module integrated into the ASEM monitor. This technology allows the transmission of high-quality signals at a distance of up to 40 meters, using the auto-equalization to compensate losses and delays caused by the remoting system.
USB Standard and remoting
The USB standard allows the connection of 127 devices via a tree structure obtained by means of USB HUBs. The USB communication has tight timing that must be respected. Each HUB device causes a delay in the propagation of the signals that allows a maximum of 5 HUBs connected in succession. Remoting is a complex process that also causes a delay in the transmission of signals and is equivalent to the maximum number of HUB connections allowed by the USB standard. For these reasons, configurations with external USB HUBs are not allowed.

ASEM assists its clients with complete hardware and software-related consultancy for Premium HMI® and CoDeSys applications It also offers timely and effective firmware-related assistance service with the creation of ad hoc "images" of the operating system. The advantage is to reduce the storage space required to install the operating systems (Microsoft Windows® CE, Window ® XP and Windows® XP Embedded, Linux and real time OS applications), keeping only the essential components for the proper functioning of the industrial PCs and integration with key external applications.
