Norrlandsvagnar, a company in Skellefteå, northern Swe-den, manufactures crew trailers for harsh conditions. Large temperature variations in the North and bumpy forest roads generate tensions in trailer materials, so the durability of glued joints is put to a real test.

FINDING RIGHT ADHESIVES AND METHODS WITHOUT INTERRUPTING YOUR PRODUCTION PROCESS

Our automatic adhesive spreading pilot line enables us to demonstrate and test different adhesives in real-life production conditions. It allows modifying adhesive properties to suit your production machinery and study adhesive and material behavior during the process – and without disturbing your own production. The pilot line includes a spreading automatism, glue table and heated press, and it can simulate both non-stop and one-shot gluing processes.

Production simulation helps in defining, for example, correct open times and pressing times.

At the end of 2015 Kiilto’s new state-of-the-art wood adhesive laboratory was completed. These improved facilities offer excellent conditions for testing wood's properties in different applications.

We understand the requirements the northern climate sets for adhesives and their performance. This expertise is inbuilt in our products and their special features.

CREATING NEW THROUGH HARD WORK Manufacture of our products is precise work. Expertise is required throughout the production process – manufacture, quality control, packaging and delivery – to ensure top quality performance.

The key priority of our production is to serve our customers. This means, among other things, carefully scheduled production to keep the delivery times, accurate raw material feeding according to product formulas, testing of production batches for high quality as well as swift and controlled packing, product picking and delivery.

M1 | M1 label indicates that building materials

meet the most stringent emission classifications

for indoor air quality. 70 per cent of all Kiilto

building products and an increasing percent-

age of Kiilto industrial adhesives sold have the

M1 label.

WHEELMARK | Adhesives bearing the “Wheel

Mark” meet the fire safety requirements of the

International Maritime Organization (IMO). IMO

guidelines are included in the EU shipping direc-

tive MED, so “Wheel Mark” in marine equipment

or substances indicates the compliance of ap-

plicable EU shipping directives.

NSF | NSF Mark can be granted by NSF Interna-

tional to a product whose raw material composi-

tion is suitable for use in contact with food. Kiilto’s

certified products are listed on NSF White Book.

KEY FLAG | The “Key Flag” mark of origin indicates

that a product is made or service provided in

Finland. Kiilto applied and was granted the Key Flag

for its Finnish production in June 2011.

FOOD CONTACT MATERIAL CERTIFICATION | This label indicates that the adhesives comply with

the requirements for the materials and articles

intended to come into direct or indirect contact

with food according to the Framework Regulation

(EC) No 1935/2004, the GMP regulation (EC) No

2023/2006 on good manufacturing practices, the

Food Act L 23/2006 as well as the (EU) 10/2011

regulation on plastic materials.

of Shipping label comply with the fire safety

standards according to the Russian Maritime

Organisation.

All our products manufactured in Finland result from our own R&D. Our continuing objective is to increase the percentage of eco and safety classified products out of all products sold. LOW EMISSION M1 PRODUCTS

Nearly all Kiilto Oy's PVAC adhesives for the woodworking industry, hot melt adhesives and most of 2-component polyurethane adhesives have the low emission M1 label.

Nearly all Kiilto PVAC adhesives in classes EN 204 D2, D3 and D4 have M1 classification. Typical applications for M1 classified 2-component polyurethane adhesives are, for example, sandwich panels and filters.

We are the first adhesive manufacturer to provide a complete range of M1 classified adhesives for the window and door manufacture. By offering safe and sustainable solutions for the industry we want to increase the sales and development of low emission products.
