Mozart famously stated that the pipe organ is the ‘king of instruments’.

When playing an individually designed instrument, we ensure that you have no reason to disagree. You will not have to compromise a single element of comfort, style or sound. This is our Regent Classic series of organsWhether for cathedral, church, auditorium or home, a Regent Classic will be a lasting investment. Built by the finest craftsmen, our individually designed organs are hand-made and finished to an exquisite level of comfort and quality.

In producing a custom instrument our objective is to create a console that blends with the architectural style of the building, is visually pleasing, of the highest quality construction and, above all, is comfortable to play. Because we are able to select stops from a library of over one thousand voices, we are able to cover all styles of organ building from Baroque to Modern Romantic.

Thanks to our unique Physis sound generation technology, you can switch effortlessly from English to Baroque or Romantic at the touch of a button and enjoy every style of music imaginable, played with the sound palette the composer originally intended.

This is the product of many years experience in the design and manufacture of classical church organs allied with the best craftsmanship in building organ consoles and speaker systems. We also design and build special cabinets and pipe façades to help create the full visual appearance of a pipe organ within the building.

However amazing the picture, there’s no substitute for seeing and playing a Regent Classic organ for yourself. Once you have you will appreciate the wonderfully authentic sound and the attention to detail in the console design and manufacture.

Cathedral Style Console for Private ClientThis magnificent Cathedral Style console is a glorious example of how Viscount created an instrument to a customer’s exact requirements.

On top of stunning aesthetics, the instrument features UHT keyboards made from boxwood and rosewood in a luxurious oak console, with a burr oak music desk and four Gothic styled glass panelled doors. The rocker tabs above the Swell manual are also made from boxwood.  The organ has a floating fourth solo division that can be played from any manual.

The Cathedral of our Lady Immaculate and St Thomas of Canterbury, NorthamptonPipe organs are often limited when accommodating large services and choral works, which is exactly why the Cathedral of Our Lady Immaculate and St Thomas of Canterbury, Northampton opted for an individually designed instrument featuring a separate Sanctuary division. Now churchgoers can additionally enjoy a more intimate and direct choir accompaniment.

Terraced Console for The Princess Alexandra Auditorium, Yarm School

When Yarm School commissioned its new Arts Centre, they required a spectacular organ to complete the Princess Alexandra Auditorium, seating 750 people. Viscount were delighted to present the school with an individually designed 4 manual organ, in a contemporary styled terraced console complementing the modern interior of the auditorium where assemblies would be enjoyed by all.

“The instrument was installed just in time for the formal Royal opening of our wonderful new facilities. Each time I play or listen to the instrument, it exceeds my expectations and the contemporary terraced console really compliments the architecture of the auditorium.

The team at Viscount Organs have fully justified our selection of their instrument and we look forward to their continued support for years to come.”

Keith Brown, Yarm School

The Guildhall School of Music, London

We were delighted to be commissioned to provide a custom built instrument for the new concert hall at the London Guildhall School. This is part of the exciting multi-million pound development of extensive new facilities for the school, situated in Silk Street near the Barbican.

“The Regent Classic organ at Milton Court is magnificent and adds a further dimension of uncompromising quality to our wonderful new concert hall. Only recently it played a starring role in a poignant and moving performance of the Faure Requiem. The Guildhall School is delighted with the organ, not only to enhance its own student performances but also to offer a first class instrument to the many international ensembles, soloists and composers now flocking to Milton Court.”

St Joseph’s Redemptorist Monastery, Dundalk

In 2015 the original pipe organ was in need of major overhaul but the budget for this was well beyond the church’s financial resources. A growing choir also struggled to fit in the west end gallery space, which could be greatly enlarged if the pipe organ was removed. These factors combined to make a compelling argument for replacement of the pipe organ with the Regent Classic instrument you see. The 22 speakers were located high above the gallery behind the façade pipes of the original organ.

We are extremely happy with our new instrument and would not hesitate to recommend Regent Classic Organs, by Viscount, for any similar installations. Indeed, we have already done so on many occasions. Our organ is always available as a shining example of their work! Trevor Clarke, Organist & Dir. Music

Leys School Chapel, Cambridge

The chapel pipe organ at Leys School in Cambridge was installed in 1904 by William Hill. Substantially rebuilt in 1934 by the successor firm of Hill Norman & Beard, a survey in 1973 noted the organ was in poor condition with a further rebuild planned. A further recent report on the instrument recognised that major work was required to bring the organ into reliable and good order and at a cost that the quality of remaining pipe work struggles to justify. It was in this context that Leys School chose Regent Classic as an alternative.

We are very pleased with our new Regent Classic organ. The instrument produces a thrilling sound and it has an alive tone with edge and warmth and the end result is very satisfying - it is as close as you are likely to hear to the real thing. The installation itself, follow-up consultations and adjustments have been dealt with extremely efficiently by the company and they have been very easy to work with.Max Kenworthy, Head of Music Leys School, Cambridge.

The Great Hall, Sir Stanley Clark Auditorium, Swansea UniversityThe Great Hall of Swansea University is part of a £400 million investment in new teaching and residential facilities on the Jersey Marine Campus close to Swansea Bay. Central to the new facilities is the Sir Stanley Clark Auditorium, seating up to 700. Our instrument was commissioned to contribute to the formal degree ceremonies that the hall will host and to add generally to the musical facilities now provided to the under graduates.

“Concert halls are always challenging for organ builders, but Viscount have worked hard to give us the best possible sound, and the final result is very pleasing and musically satisfying. It has been a pleasure to work with Regent Classic on this landmark project, and the organ is a distinguished addition to our new hall.”

Dr Ian Rutt, Director of Music, Swansea University, Singleton Park

Sample the exquisite difference an instrument equipped with Physis® Technology can make and experience the future of musical engineering.

Physis Technology has taken over seven years to develop. It is a patented technology unique to Viscount, created to allow instruments to mirror the exact sounds, ambience and configurations of any organ found in iconic venues around the world.

Whether your regular organ needs major repair work or you’re considering replacing it with a digital instrument, sit down and play or just stand back and listen to a Viscount organ with the latest Physis Technology.

To facilitate this, we are delighted to set up a temporary instrument for your review. We’re confident you will be convinced it is a worthy alternative to a pipe organ and justifies itself on sound quality alone.

We can even update your current organ to a new level of digital excellence. This option enables you to enjoy the best of your classic organ while also extending its resources to perform a growing musical repertoire that is perhaps beyond its current range.
