According to infomation subsequeatly received by our overseas Coaaand, on t lus sarno iigy the p i lo t of a f ighter a i rcraf t raciioed to the Air Sea Sescue Service, :affron-salden, Sssex, ZngLand, that a bocjfaer rath niarkinca "A'1 TJ" 31120 on the t a i l asaeahly, had ditched i n tiie Sn^iish flannel* Thoae nunbers, which correspond with ths aerial niuabor of your son1 a a i r c ra f t , ident i f ied thia plane aa the one on which ha waa a crew nenbor. The Air Sea Rescue Service dispatched a rescue launch to the scone of the disabled plane. This rescue launch capsized and a second was i-nodiately sent out, Spon arr ival of the seoond launch at the scene, no trace of your son's a i rcraf t was found and, although tho area was aearched for a considerable length of time, no survivors were located.
After a thorough review of the circuastancea surrounding the death, cf your oon, and in view of tho fact that no renains which have been re-covered can be associated with hiia, the 3epartaent of the '.my has been forced to deteminc that hia roaains are not recoverable, I wish to assure you that, ahould any additional evidence cotae to our attention indicating that your sen's remains aro Ln our possession, you w i l l be infomed iaoodiately.
