Missing Air Grew Report (AAF No. 3929), dated 12 April 1944, states that B-24 H aircraft Ko. 41-20650, of the 732nd Bombardment Squadron, 453rd Bombardment Group, piloted by Lieutenant Bingaman, took off from AAF Station 144 for an operational mission to Brunswick, Genaany, on S April 1944, with a ore* of nine'others'ahd'"tivo observers aboard. The plane vas seen to leave the formation just before the Group I n i t i a l Point, hit by fighter planes, and vas last aeon near Salzwedel, north of Bnmsvriok, No parachutes ./ere reported. His plane „as last seen near Sal2,7edel, Gemai^r, after having oeen attacked and hit by eneny f i l t e r planes. No oarachutes were seen. The other nine members of the crev; and two observers who v.ere aboard this plane have been reported as prisoners of war, A Lieutenant J. K. Bingaman appears on a l i s t submitted by the Senior British Officer at Stalag Luft I, as having bean killed in the air.

. -—3^ 1* Nonrecoverable Findings for 1st Lt, Bingaman were approved
12 June 1950, reviewed and again approved October 1950,
2. l/Lt. Bingaman, pilot of aircraft #^28650, was the only casualty of an eleven (11) man crew iwhen the plane crashed near Wesendorf, Germany, 19liU. According to surviving crew members, the plane was attacked by 20m cannons of an ME 109 and the pilot was struck in the head. He went down with the plane.
3. An investigation was ccnducted by the Field in 19U8. Results were negative. Lt. Bingaman was killed in the plane and i t is believed he was destroyed by the fire and explosions ensuing from the crash.
