Dear Mrs. Cohen: ^

I am writing you relative to my previous l e t t e r i n which you were regretfully informed that a Finding of Death had "been ' made In the case of your "brother; Sergeant Harry Goldstein, 12,038,179, Air Corps, and that the presumptive date of his death had "been established as 16 August 19^5.

An o f f i c i a l report based on information obtained from captured German reports from the Interrogation Center at Dulag Luft, has now been received which states that he was k i l l e d i n action on 6 March 19^ near Verder, Germany, 18 miles • southwest of Berlin. The report further states that his body waa washed ashore near Werder, Germany on 7 July 19^4 and his identification was made possible by his identification tags.

Pursuant to the provisions of Public Law 14-90, 77th Congress, 7 March 19^2 as amended, o f f i c i a l reports w i l l now be issued by the War Department which w i l l indicate the actual date of his death as that shown above. The issuance of thia o f f i c i a l Report of Death w i l l not affect any payment or settlement of accounts which haa been made on the ̂ aaie of the Finding of Death.

My continued aympatby i s with you In the great loss you have sustained.

Sincerely youra.
