Govt. to Show Results of Smart City Project Soon
According to the latest news, the Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu said that the govern-
ment has proposed an investment of Rs 1.35 lakh crore for the implementation of ‘Smart City Project’ in
60 towns and 20 cities have started rolling out their schemes.
However, the every state has participated in the stiff competition of Smart City Project while UP state has
not shown any interest in the mega scheme of Modi’s government.
Naidu said that the result will be visible soon as the first batch of 20 cities are starting to roll out a range of
projects to ensure better living.

Corporation Invites Applications for CEO & CFO Posts in Smart City Ltd.
In order to make Chennai as a smart city, the Greater Chennai Corporation
has invited the applications for CEO & CFO posts in Chennai Smart City
Limited (CSCL), the special purpose vehicle tasked with the project’s im-
plementation. This project will be implemented Rs. 518 crore worth solu-
tions related to water management and information communication tech-
nology and Rs. 848 crore worth retrofitting solutions for T Nagar.

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) infrastructure major company has signed paper

Indore IMC Starts Work on All Overhead Cable & Electricity Lines Underground
In order to develop Indore city as a smart city, the municipal corpora-
tion has finally started the development work on Subash Marg and
Mhow Naka to Tori Corner. The corporation has first started widening
the roads to make it free from all overhead cable and electricity lines.

TUFIDCO & City Corporation Formed Working Groups For Smart City
According to the published news in Times of India, a meeting was held
on Monday between Tamil Nadu Urban Finance and Infrastructure De-
velopment Corporation Ltd (TUFIDCO) and the city corporation to
find the suggestion on the smart city proposals and also from various
working groups.
A senior officer of the corporation said that actually the meeting was
called to form working groups for discussion on Lake restoration and
renovation, Traffic movement, Infrastructure planning, Parks and open

New Delhi Smart City Project will Implemented by June 2018
As per the latest news, the urban development minister Naidu di-
rected the NDMC officials that the Rs 1,900-crore “Smart City”
project should be implemented by June 2018 and the efforts should
be visible by next June. He also said that the NDMC can become a
lighthouse for other cities to develop as a smart city.

CISCO Ready to Digitally Transform 14 Cities in India
As per the published news of Economics Times, the CISCO is actively
working with state governments and its partners to digitally transform 14
cities. Not Just Nagpur in Maharashtra its has decided to connect 100 cities
as part of PM Modi’s ‘Digital India Program‘ initiative.
In a Q&A with IANS CISCO CEO Robbins said that we have joined hands
with state governments to digitally transform 14 cities with help of our part-
ners. He also said I wish to take this number to 100 in the next five-seven
