Annexure 1

Officers of Mechanical Department applying for Master of Technology in Mechatronics at IIT Patna in terms of Railway Board’s letter no. 2013/E(TRG)/37/3 dt. 03.09.2014 need to fulfill the following eligibility conditions:-

1. Mandatory Criteria

a) Age Restriction: The applicant should not be over 50 years of age on the date of completion of the training. The upper age limit of 50 years is relaxable by two years for SC/ST/OBC employees.

b) Minimum length of service: The applicant must have put in minimum 02 (two) years of service in Indian Railways.

c) Academic Record: The applicant should have scored at least 60% marks (or CGPA of 6.5 on scale of 10 point scale) for General/OBC category and 55% (or CGPA of 6.0 on 10 point scale) for SC/ST category in the qualifying examination degree examination i.e. BE/ B.Tech in Mechanical/ Production/ Aerospace/ Electrical/ Electronics and Communication/ Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent.

d) Vigilance Clearance: D&AR / Vigilance clearance is mandatory.

2. Officers posted as faculty in Centralised Training Institutes / Training Centres shall be given preference in nominations.

3. All Officers desirous of nomination for this training will have to furnish information as per annexed proforma (Annexure 2) for processing the case for approval of Competent Authority.

4. Selected officers are required to be in readiness to appear for interview at

IIT/Patna (around 15th June 2020).

5. Officers selected for training would have to serve Railways for a period of 5 years after completion of the course, for which a Bond is to be executed before proceeding for training as per Board’s letter no. 2013/E(TRG)/37/3 dt. 03.09.2014.

6. Probationers undergoing Centralized Probationary Training are not eligible.
