Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT Bombay) IIT Bombay set up by an Act of Parliame nt, was esta blished in 1958, at Powai, a northern suburb of Mumbai. Today the Insti tute is re cognized as o ne of the centers o f academic excellence in the coun try. About 20 percent of i ts graduates and post-graduates are entrepreneurs— many of them fi rst gen eration. In the year 2000, the sc hool wa s renamed as Shailesh J Mehta School of Management, in honor of Dr. Shail esh J. Mehta, a distinguished alumnus of IIT Bombay and a generous c ontributor to the sc hool. SJM SOM already leads the wa y in preparing its Gradu ates to respond to the new challenges b y drawing on the varied intellectual resources of IIT Bombay and providing an outstanding and innovative program in management education. Continuing Education and Quality Improvement Programme (CE&QIP):  With the rapid pace of growt h in t echnological knowledge and frequent paradigm shifts in technology, Continu ing Education of wor king professi onals in industry is a vital need. Continuing Education Programmes are being conducted all over the country and abroad. In addition to regul ar s hort term programmes, CE &QIP also c onducts int ensive courses on selected topics leading to a certificate on successful completion and evaluation. 10th Batch of Executive Program in Management (2013-14) 10th batch of Executive Program in Management with specialization in Marketing and HRM (EPM MHRM) is proposed to be held through CE&QIP of IIT Bombay, simultaneously at Delhi/NCR during 2013-14. The programme will be coordinated by Prof. S.Bhargavaand Prof. Dinesh Sharma of Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management, IIT Bombay. Today this programme is well established and is in demand from the executives, managers and entrepreneurs engaged in different domains viz. go vernment, private and family managed businesses. Marketing function and managing people in any kind of business are backbone of sustainable compet itive advantage. Succ essful corporate l eaders ha ve realized it and are applying all possible strategies to hone up the business development skills of peo ple, who can bring the creative and innovative edge to the business.

This progra m ha s bee n excl usively de signed to meet the emerg ing needs of executives, managers and entrepreneurs. It includes topics that bridge the existing skills gap and facilitate easy transition to the required platform for success. EPM-MHRM is an endeavor to provide an opportu nity to get an in-depth orientation and exposure to the foundations of Management and addressing specialized aspects of Marketing and HRM. This programme seeks to address the following: Address the emerging paradigms in the field of Management. An emphasis on current concepts and applications. Emphasizing on skills such as analytical reasoning, effective communication and

teamwork. A blend of topics addressing conventional Marketing and People Management with focus

on entrepreneurial management. Programme Duration   This Execut ive Progra m in Manage ment is pr oposed to be held during Sept 2013 – May 2014. Classes are propo sed to be held on alternate w eekend Saturdays (2p m-8:30pm) and Sundays (8:30am to 2pm). The program will be spread over 38 days during the academic year. Who Will Benefit:   This prog ramme is useful to the executives, managers a nd entrepre neurs wo rking in

private, public, government and non-government/voluntary organizations. In the past, this program has a lso attracted entrepreneurs and managers of family

managed businesses. This progra mme, emph asises on high quality education t o the professionals, who are

interested in enhancing (building/developing) their career and business competencies. Pedagogy and Programme Faculty  The programme pedagogy will involve use of case studies, lecture-cum-discussions, video / film d iscussions, semi nars, role plays, projects etc . Prof. S. B hargava and Prof. Di nesh Sharma of Shailes h J . Mehta School of Management, IIT B ombay will be the programme coordinator. The progr amme will incl ude facu lty fro m IIT Bombay, leading e xperts from industry and academia. Programme Fee  Total fees for the programme will be One Lakh Forty Two Thousand Six Ninety Seven (1,42,697/-) which includes the course materials. Each participant is required to pay the total fee by a crossed demand draft drawn in favour of “THE REGISTRAR, IIT BOMBAY (CEP ACCOUNT)” and payable at Mumbai. There is no seperate registration fee and this program fee includes the course materials books, readings, cases, etc. All documents alongwith original DD (Program fee) will be returned if candidate will not be selected for the program at the time of personal interaction (Interview). Award of Certificate  Each participant will be awarded a certificate by CE& QIP, IIT Bombay at the end of the Programme.

Profile of the Programme Coordinators   Dr. S. Bhargava is Professor at the SJMSOM, IIT Bombay. He teaches Organizational Behavior, HRM and Business Entrepreneurship Development and is engaged in research as well as consulting in same areas. Dr Dinesh Sharma comes with diverse experience in marketing – as practioner, researcher and teacher. He has w orked in In dustry before j oining re search and teaching career. His teaches marketing strategy, marketing research brand management, sales management. He has published se veral research pa pers in many peer reviewed international journal s and also has written case studies.

Important Instructions:   Please note carefully that only graduates (in any discipline) with 2 years of work

experience in any organization are eligible for this programme. Medium of instruction will be English. The programme is non-residential. Total fee is to be pai d in Advance. There is no provisi on for ins tallment. The fee once

paid would not be refunded under any condition. Registration fees paid by a candidate cannot be transferred to another candidate. The c lass schedule will be finalize d at the start of the course. However there can b e

some changes at later stage due to unforeseen circumstances. Minimum attendance requirement will be as per rules of IITBombay, CE&QIP. No partici pant wil l be all owed to appear i n final e xam without meeting a ttendance

requirements. No certificate will be awarded without satisfactory performance in end examination. Conduct of this progra m is sole discretion of I IT Bombay and c an be rescheduled or

cancelled due to any unavoidable circumstances. In that case the registration fee will be fully refunded.
