Online eTV (Online Electronic Tourist Visa) is an authority to enter in India.

Foreign nationals from United States (US) can apply for Online eTV through internet

and travel to India for tourism purpose viz; holidays, recreation and seeing family

and/or friends, or business visitor activities purposes which may include attending a

conference, negotiation or an exploratory business visit is allowed under Online eTV.

Any kind of employment paid or unpaid is strictly not allowed while staying in India.

US citizens cannot work for or provide services to a business or organization in India

or see goods or services to the public. Under this scheme US citizens can stay up-to

30 days from the date of issue, they must have a Passport with six months validity.

Once an Online eTV is approved, US citizens must print and carry the approved visa

along with the other documents. The scheme is simple and beneficial to travellers, as

they don’t need to submit their Passports to an India Embassy personally. After your

Online eTV scheme has been issued the visa exists only in this system.

Entry will be given to US citizens through 16 designated Airports: Ahmedabad,

Amritsar, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Gaya, Goa, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow,

Mumbai, Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram, Tiruchi and Varanasi.

Medical/Health requirement: US citizens traveling to India on

Online eTV must be aware of medical/health requirement before arriving in

India, they should meet medical/health eligibility criteria first. They should

be fit and fine while traveling to India and have a current International

Certification of Vaccination.

Available to those who wish to visit India for tourism and casual business

visitor activities.

Online eTV is directly linked to the Passport, so US citizens must travel to

India with the same Passport as the one Foreign national apply at Online

eTV.

Passport must have six months validity.

US citizens should have a copy of return ticket and ongoing journey.

Sufficient funds to cover all expenses during stay is required.

Pakistani Passport holders or Pakistani Origin: Apply for regular Visa.

Not available to Diplomatic/Official Passport Holders.
