Map of India Scavenger HuntUsing a map or globe, find the following locations and fill-in the answers.

1. New Delhi is the capital of India and lies in the northern part of India. Circle New Delhi in orange.

2. To the far north of India sit the Himalaya Mountains, which has many of Earth’s highest peaks. Draw three brown mountain peaks in the northern tip of India.

3. Between the Himalayas and New Delhi lies Punjab, a mecca for the Sikh religion. The Golden Temple is there. Draw a gold building near Punjab.

4. Just south of New Delhi is the Taj Mahal. Draw a building with a rounded roof to the south of New Delhi.

5. Now stop at Uttar Pradesh. One of the world’s oldest living cities, Varanasi, lies here along the River Ganges. Draw a blue curvy line under Uttar Pradesh to show the river.

6. Now travel toward the western coast to the state of Maharashtra. There are enormous cave shrines in this area. Draw a gray cave to the left of the ‘I’ in India.

7. Travel down the western coast to Goa. This is a very popular beach destination. Draw a blue wave the left of Goa and a small red sand bucket under it.

8. Travel further south to the area west of Bangalore. Draw a large yellow building to represent the very opulent Mysore Palace.

9. Now travel down to Kerala, a very tropical area of India. Draw a simple tiger here to represent a tiger preserve that people like to visit here.

10. Finally, India has two sets of islands that lay way out in the Bay of Bengal. Color them orange.
