    SUCCESS STORIES

    We provided Motorcycle Mechanic Training to juvenile students at

    Govt Special Home for Boys, Taluk Office Compound, Chengalpettu,

    Kancheepuram District, Tamil Nadu 603002.We have completed 3

    batches. When these students get released from Juvenile special

    home, they can start their own shop. It ensures the job security to the

    students.

    Pakkam, Thiruvallur Dt [IS Tamil Nadu]

    India Sudar started a learning centre for 10th standard students in Govt. High School Pakkam, Thiruvallur Dt toprovide evening classes for English, Maths and Science subjects. India Sudar deployed two teachers to conduct eveningclasses for duration of five months. 80 students will benefit from the project.

    Chengalpettu, Kancheepuram Dt [IS Tamil Nadu]

    India Sudar deployed a teacher to teach basics of computers, DTP and Design at Govt. Children Home for

    Boys, Taluk Office Compound, Chengalpettu, Kancheepuram Dt. This is the first juvenile home in India and was started

    in the 18th century. 40 students will benefit from the project. The fund is provided by Malar Trust Onlus.

    LEARNING CENTRES

    ACADEMIC SUPPORT

    Tondiarpet, Chennai [IS Tamil Nadu]

    India Sudar deployed a teacher at Adi-Dravida Samooga Sevagar Sangam located at Tondiarpet, Chennai for duration of

    five months. Six 10th standard students will benefit from the project.

    Project cost: Rs.7500/-

    Alathur and nearby villages, Chennai [IS Tamil Nadu]

    India Sudar deployed teachers in ten learning centers which cover Alathur, Edapalyam, Mettuthumbur and

    Pallathumbur villages near Chennai. India Sudar has been supporting these centers for the last five years. Total

    beneficiaries are approximately 300 students.

    Special thanks to Mr.Sarathy, Udhavum Nanbargal who is monitoring and periodically updating the status of these

    learning centers.

    Project cost: Rs.72000/-

    New India Sudar Learning Centre , Bangalore [IS Karnataka]

    Members: Udhaya Kumar V, Raghavendra Prasad A, Vinod S Murgod, Sunil Date: 26th Nov

    India Sudar team visited Janaseva Vidya Kendra Chennanahalli, Magadi Main Road, Bangalore. It is one of

    the well known residential schools in Karnataka. The school follows the ancient Gurukula tradition. Every year 10

    students are admitted to Gurukula. One of India Sudar beneficiaries (Mahesh Bellavi) is working as a teacher in this

    kendra. During free time he goes to the nearby village to take classes for the nearby government school students.

    India Sudar decided to start a tuition center in the proximity which will be run by Mahesh. Thirty students studying in

    8th and 9th standard in Channena Halli Government School will attend the classes. They will be given lectures on

    English, Maths and Science.

    India Sudar had paid partial fee to S.V venkatesh who was doing BSc Microbiology from Annai Violet Art and

    Science College, Mennambedu, Ambattur, Chennai. He completed his degree and started his job at Unichem Labs.

    CHILDRENS DAY CELEBRATION

    CHIDRENS DAY CELEBRATION

    Computer Course Certificate Distribution [IS Tamil Nadu]

    Certificates had been distributed to 48 students who passed from Indiasudar Computer Education Centre, Renganatham

    Pettai, Karur Dt.

    India Sudar team visited an Oral School for Deaf, East Marredpally, Secundrabad to celebrate Children's Day. The school

    is one of the well known oral and residential school in Hyderabad. Children from Pre School to 10th standard are

    studying here. The celebration started with a drawing competition followed by a skit by the kids spreading awareness

    about unity. Sports events like running race and skipping were also conducted. At the end of the program gifts and

    sweets were distributed to students and teachers.

    India Sudar member Udhaya Kumar V visited Indira Gandhi International Academy, #10/2, Yelahanka Jakkur

    Road, Jakkur, Bangalore and had discussions with Head master and school administrator. The school provides education

    to 275 students. India Sudar had earlier provided notebooks for the year 2011-12 and deployed two teachers till June

    2011. Other requirements for the school have been identified such as paper for examination, Atlas books, chalk boxes

    and maps. The school also requires grocery for breakfast and dinner.

    Painting of Blackboards [IS Tamil Nadu]

    India Sudar had sponsored Rs.6500/- for painting 33 blackboards in Govt Higher Secondary School, Nayakanpalayam,

    Coimbatore Dt. Painting work has been completed and blackboards are now in good condition.

    Special thanks to our members Mrs.Maheswari and Mr.Veera Kumar for arranging painters and ensuring the project

    completion in time.

    Periodical subscriptions to India Sudar Libraries [IS Tamil Nadu]

    India Sudar had set up libraries in fifteen government schools located in rural areas in chennai, Kancheepuram, Karur,Coimbatore, Dharmapuri and Tirupur districts. India Sudar released Rs.1280/- each to every library for the subscription

    of periodicals for the year 2011-12. Malar Trust Onlus has sponsored the entire cost of this project.

    India Sudar member Mohan Raj K visited our libraries at Govt Boys Higher Secondary School and Govt Girls

    Higher Secondary School, B.Komarapalayam, Namakkal district. The libraries are being utilized well by students despite

    certain difficulties. At Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, the library has been converted to a regular class room due to

    higher intake of plus one students. New class rooms are being built and the work will be completed by January 2012.

    Afterwards the school will dedicate a separate room for library.
