Why?

• Spread awareness of disability through popular mediums like movies, sports, books , music etc. and, leverage the work and support of public personalities, to create awareness in mainstream society on the need for inclusion and acceptance of people with IDD

• Identify the roles which corporates and schools could play to support people with disabilities and drive inclusivity into the system

• Guidance to parents and educators of differently abled children on the possibilities and support systems that exist.

• Raise awareness on each of the three disabilities - what it means, statistics, services available etc.

• Discuss responsibility of society - including government, corporates, media, arts and NGOs - to enable people with IDD to realise their full potential

• Share success stories about parents and educators involved in the field

• Raise funds to open a ‘Music Therapy School for children with ASD’ – to the tune of Rs 10 lacs

Arun Shourie

• Cabinet Minister in the Govt. Of India between 1998 till 2004 holding portfolios of Disinvestment, communications and IT. • Arun has served as an Economist with the World Bank. • Arun won the Ramon Magsaysay Award for Journalism, Literature and Creative Communication Arts in 1984. • Won accolades and awards like "Star of Asia”, “The Business Leader of the Year” award. • Celebrated author of 26 books on variety of topics. His latest book ‘Does he know a Mother’s heart?’ is a personal narrative as a parent of a child with Cerebral Palsy.

Dr Kiran Bedi • Kiran Bedi, has been India’s first and highest (woman) ranking IPS officer. • She worked with the United Nations in New York as the Police Advisor to the Secretary General, in the Department of Peace Keeping Operations. • She is the founder of two NGOs, Navjyoti and India Vision Foundation, which reach out to thousands of under -served children, women and men in the areas of education, vocational skills, environment, counseling, and health care to the urban and rural poor. • She was awarded Ramon Magsaysay award in 1994 for Government service. • Kiran Bedi has been voted as India's most admired (THE WEEK 2002) and most trusted woman in India. (Readers Digest, March 2010).

Harsha Bhogle

• Famous Indian Cricket Commentator who’s part of the ‘Few good Men’ commentary team. • First Indian commentator to be invited by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation during India's cricket series. • Has been presenting live cricket from all around the world for ESPN STAR Sports since 1995 • Voted as the ‘favorite Cricket Commentator’ by Cricinfo. • Harsha, along with his wife, Anita, runs a sport-based communication consultancy called Prosearch. • Harsha walks for ‘Forum of Autism’ during Mumbai marathon every year.

Prasoon Joshi

• Prasoon Joshi is an Indian lyricist, screenwriter and advertising copywriter. • In 2008 he was invited as the Cannes Jury Chairman and in 2009, he was named amongst the exclusive 10-member Cannes Titanium & Integrated Jury 2009 at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival 2009 • In 2006, he was chosen a 'Young Global Leader 2006' by the Forum of Young Global Leaders. • Prasoon and Aamir Khan have decided to prepare 50 short films on the issue of malnutrition. They were invited for the same by the President of India.

• Anurag Indian Movie director and Writer who has directed movies like Saaya, Murder, Gangster, Kites, Barfi. • Nominated in the Best Director category at the 53rd Filmfare Awards in 2008 for Life in a... • CEO of Kolkata Knight riders IPL cricket team. • He helps with KKR team design, represents them in the media and oversees their marketing and web content • Consults on creating advertiser funded media properties and investments in sporting properties. • A vastly experienced quiz master and well known face in Sports entertainment. • Previously has worked as head of Production for ESPN and National Geographic.

Kaushik Roy

•Kaushik Roy is Film Director of Apna Aasmaan which was based on Autistic kid. • He is the nephew of legendary film maker Bimal Roy. •Kaushik has been in the field of advertising for over 3 decades. • He is also a painter and photographer. • In parallel to his career as President of Brand Strategy at Reliance Industries he directed the movie Apna Aasmaan. • In 2010, has been elected president of the India chapter of the International Advertising Association for the year.

Abhijit Bhaduri

• Abhijit Bhaduri is the Chief Learning Officer (CLO) of WIPRO. • He has led HR teams at Microsoft, PepsiCo, Colgate and Tata Steel. • He is on the Advisory Board of Wharton’s prestigious program for CLO’s that is run by the Univ. of Pennsylvania. • Abhijit has written novels; ‘Mediocre but Arrogant’, ‘Married but available’. His first non-fiction book named ‘DONOT Hire the Best’ is coming out soon • Abhijit loves theater and has acted in a lot of plays. He has played a short role in ‘Apna Aasmaan’.

George Abraham

• George Abraham is founding Chairman of the World Blind Cricket Council (WBCC) and the Association for Cricket for the Blind in India (ACBI). • He realized that the blind needed opportunity and not sympathy and wanted cricket to be an effective medium to bring discipline, ambition, confidence, team work among the visually impaired. • With the help of cricketers, BCCI and corporate sponsors, George went on to form WBCC which has held 3 Blind cricket world cups till date. • George has actively participated in the Persons With Disability Act 1995 campaign and is instrumental in including disability in census. • George is Ashoka Fellow (2001) , Person of the Year 2007 by Limca book of world records and has been featured in Discovery Channel’s Discovery People.

Ramesh Vangal

• Entrepreneur who founded Katra group which is worth 500 Million$. • Katra group has diverse interests like wellness, agriculture, technology, media, marine logistics etc. •Holds contrarian business principles and doesn’t believe in concepts like integration and core competency. •Reputedly brought PepsiCo to India and served as its President (Asia Pacific) which became a Harvard Case Study. • Ramesh has started the Asha Foundation in 2001 which has a mission to reach out to differently-abled children in society and orient them towards a more fulfilling life. It provides therapies to children affected by Cerebral Palsy, Down’s syndrome, ASD.

Bombay Jayashri

• Carnatic music vocalist who began Concert in 1982. • Has the rare privilege of being the 1st Carnatic vocal performer in the Royal Opera House at Durban and the Russian Opera House at Helsinki, Finland. • has performed at prestigious festivals and venues all across India and in over 20 different countries. • Famous for singing ‘Zaraa Zaraa’ in Rehna Hai tere dil mein. • She has been working closely with institutions like Kilikili in Karnataka and Sankalp in Tamil Nadu which care for autistic children

• Managing Director and founder of Vindhya

e-Infomedia. • Vindhya is India’s first for-profit organization that employs people with disabilities (PWDs) as 100% of its production staff. • First Generation Entrepreneur who plans to provide employability to 5000 PWD’s by 2015. • Vindhya infomedia is recipient of Shell Helen Keller award. • Pavithra has been recognized with TATA-TiE Stree Shakthi Award in 2009.

Ganesh Anantharaman

• Ganesh is the Author of the best Seller ‘Bollywood Melodies’ which traces the history of Hindi movie songs. • ‘Bollywood Melodies’ won him award for the best book on cinema at the 56th National Film awards. • He has a deep interest in Music, especially the Hindi movie songs. • He has a M. Naveen Varshneya

• Founder of NV Life Academy which finds cure to reverse Mental Disorders- An Invention based on quantum Physics. • Previously a Serial Entrepreneur who founded companies like Mobile Mantra, Protocol India etc. • NV Life academy works with a principle that Mental Disorder is primarily an energy imbalance triggered by an inability to deal with powerful blow of an unfavorable event or multiple events over a period of time. • Has successfully healed about 400 cases across various forms of mental disorder.

Girisha H. Nagarajegowda

• Girisha won India its first Silver medal in London Paralympics 2012 in High Jump. • Girisha has already won 5 international medals including a gold at recent Kuwait International Open Athletics. • Prior to becoming a full-time professional athlete, Girisha was working for ING Vysya who sponsored him to go to Kuwait Athletics meet. • The athlete is supported by "Samarthanam", a Bangalore-based Non-governmental organization. • He is only the ninth medalist of India at Paralympics & only the third to claim silver at the Paralympics.
